Exactly. If U.S. ice dance was in the same state as U.S. pairs, it might make sense, to help the U.S. in the TE if nothing else. But the U.S. has the deepest ice dance field of any country in the world right now, with the younger teams starting to break through internationally...CPom are on...

According to the USFS press release, they will be working with Marina and Massimo. Marina is coaching in FL. I think she has a few OES teams, plus the Carhart sisters. Her best team is probably the youngest Carhart and partner, who won Novice at Nats. Massimo is based in San Fran.

True. I remember when Skary Babs and Margaglio came back for Torino and people assumed they would medal and possibly win. Even w/o the infamous fall in the OD, they likely wouldn't have medaled. If USFS is smart, they're not going to push the Shibs as a challenge to C/B and potential Oly medal...

A lot has changed in ice dance since 2018. I don't see the Shibs' style meshing well with the more modern look of current programs. They haven't even been doing shows the past few years. I assumed they had moved on from skating. Admittedly, I wasn't really much of a fan in their later years...

Yes, although I doubt there will be big crowds there, given the location, which is unfortunate for the skaters.
