I was in Ireland when the news broke about Sinead - such a shock. A busker in Galway sang 'Nothing Compares to U' and many in the crowd were in tears, me included. In Dublin the words 'Nothing Compares to You' were running across the Beckett Bridge - a beautiful tribute. Such a talent.

I think I will catch the highlights tomorrow … unless I happen to wake up in the middle of the night. I like the horses. And the carriages and crowns even though I have mixed feelings about the family keeping them.

The royal family are kind of the OG nepo babies, aren't they? I finished reading 'The Spare' (okay, I skimmed lots of it). My takeaway is that Harry has little emotional resilience, wants things his own way and thinks he and his wife do no wrong - it's everyone else who somehow wrong them or...

I'm always excited to see the new names at the beginning of a quadrennial ... kind of sad to see how small a group for women and pairs. Great opportunity for someone to step up in a big way though!

I have to say - I found them much more enjoyable today. More emotion, more connection. I hope they have the motivation and desire and health to continue on competitively.

I enjoyed both Radford and James in their other partnerships and was interested to see how their pairing would turn out. So far I'm pretty underwhelmed. They don't seem to have a lot of chemistry, and Radford seems so emotionless. Was he like that with Duhamel? Maybe she had so much spark...

I haven't taken the time to figure out anyone's name yet - but so far am liking most of the players. Like others, I find Maryanne (ok, I know one name!) entertaining but if I was hungry, tired and stuck with her 24/7 I'd want to pelt her with coconuts. I could never play Survivor - I'm far too...

No kidding - so many stops en route and so much potential for lost luggage! Between the positive tests, last minute flights, worrying about skates arriving, and basically going from plane to competition ice, I will be amazed if he has any energy for skating when he finally gets to Beijing! Or...

I moved from Abbotsford to Surrey a few months ago - heartbreaking to see what's happening in my former home town. The main flooding is in farm areas - as someone else said, it was a lake that was drained in the 1920's and is kept dry by pumps. They were worried that the pumps would fail last...

I'm setting the alarm for tomorrow morning ... hopefully can get tickets!

Have attended several events at this venue - Canadians, and I think GP Final (?)? We stayed downtown and drove out to UBC. We found parking without difficulty - leaving was often a gong show so we learned to just go out for something to eat and wait for traffic to clear. Bus service is good...
