I wonder if we eventually wind up in a situation where there are like 50,000 songs that have been approved and skaters need to choose among those songs. They can choose multiple songs / edit them together, etc but there is a universe of pre-approved songs to pick from.
That's ridiculous. There really should be a requirement that there is at least 1 day in between the last day of the Team Event and the first day of individual competition. Even though Ice Dancers didn't compete today, they were still obviously heavily engaged in today's event from both a time...
I hate to see the way some of the US Media is covering Ilia's performance in the Team Event SP and his interview afterwards. Some of this reporting may have started with Christine Brennan but it has spread to other publications...
Also have no commentary on Peacock. It's a good broadcast, haven't noticed the weird camera angles some mentioned yesterday. Only issue is the jump map is annoying but otherwise enjoying this!
I didn't mean to cause controversy - it was poorly worded. What I meant was Jason looked very affected by what had occurred with Max just before his skate and it may have affected his skating.
Milwaukee would be a great location - MKE is a pretty good domestic airport and ORD is major international airport that is only 1 hour away. Lots of hotels. Plus they've had good attendance with events in the Midwest lately.
Wasn't SCOB's capacity 2000 or less? They may want to keep it smaller for the post-Olympic year
Though, IMO, SCOB was too small and it would be way too small now given renewed interest with Alysa, Ilia, etc plus 2022 was still post-C0vid with masks, etc.
Yeah that's true about Tomoki. Again, I'm not a huge Jason fan so I'm not trying to turn him into a martyr. The Men's event was so shocking, I'm just trying to process it. Maybe the energy in the building after Max just made it hard for Jason to be at his best.
Tomoki and Ilia weren't really...
What's the explanation for his skate then? Injury? He looked fine in the short program and I didn't hear anything about injuries at practices. Regular old nerves? He's faced much bigger situations than a US Nationals where he was sitting in second for 3 Olympic spots with a judging group and...
I just re-watched the Men's Free Skate - does anyone else think Jason threw this? Maybe not even consciously - but maybe subconsciously - that he saw Max's skate, saw Max's placement, knows Max's story, and couldn't bring himself to be the one who kept Max from the Olympics team.
Jason had a...
I would really love if Emily Chan wrote a tell-all book so we could know what really happened with her and Spencer, Champs Camp, the OQE, and whatever drama tomorrow will bring.
I think the concern is the favoritism USFS has shown towards Shin & Nagy. Even at NBC, Tara and Johnny were pounding the table for them at the end of yesterday's broadcast because they are "the future."
The concern is that they will select Shin & Nagy for the Olympics AND for Worlds and...
Of course it's up to Ilia and his coaches (if Men's is considered one of the Top 2 US disciplines and if Ilia gets a choice about whether to do 1 or 2 programs). I wasn't suggesting it's not up to Ilia - it certainly isn't up to me, lol.
The earlier discussion in this thread seemed to suggest...
