    2025 Skate America location/dates

I mean USFS is not really known for optimizing for in-person fan experience. See, for example, the food situation at Skate America Boston, Randy, the weird split up of the Free Program groups at Nationals, changing the start and end times of the Vegas Skate America like 3 weeks beforehand, the...

    2025 Skate America location/dates

Maybe they feel like they can / should wait a little longer since Skate America will be in November. I also got excited though when I saw this thread bumped, hoping there was news!

    2025 Skate America location/dates

SLC would have been fun but Tempe would be even better in November! And that arena is so conveniently located. Lake Placid is one of the few locations in the US that is out of the question for me.

    2025 Skate America location/dates

I don't think it will be SCOB this year - that arena could only hold 2000 people and certainly there will be more interest in Skate America in an Olympic year. I also really didn't think it was an appropriate venue for Skate America - the concourse was open to the ice, there was very limited...

2025 ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Boston

While I loved many things about 2025 Worlds (including the music and particularly the excellent skating!), I did not like in-arena announcing in terms of interviewing skaters right after their performances, trying to generate unnecessary hype while waiting for the scores, and in particular the...

    2025 Skate America location/dates

I'd be happy with any venues mentioned here (and many others) except not Lake Placid. Salt Lake City would be exciting - major airport, lots of downtown hotels, and weather can still be pretty good in October. The Maverick Center is also served by light rail, which works pretty well.

Agree the attendance was better the first year but both years were pretty good. Maybe because Amber was there the first year? It seemed like a lot of local skaters came out to see her and that created more local interest.

2024-25 US Pairs Discussion - Triple-Twisting Through Tornado Alley

I meant to ask this earlier but forgot with all of the skating excitement over the last few weeks. Does anyone know why Kam & O'Shea were not at Legacy on Ice? I was thinking it might be because of Danny's injury but probably not if it only happened a week ago.

Worlds 2025 Pairs Free: “Slipping Up To Boston”

For sure, and may not have endeared them to the crowd.

Worlds 2025 Pairs Free: “Slipping Up To Boston”

I think it was intended as a friendly rivalry with Laurin & Ethier, as they had as their message: " Go Habs Go"

    U.S. Men 2024-25 news & updates

The article made me even more skeptical of Jason and especially his coaching team. From the article, they all had planned for him to compete in more competitions during the 2024-2025 season, so why didn't they ensure that he broke in another pair of boots during the prior 2 years??

I also just saw Lucas Britschgi!

2025 ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Boston

The 2nd floor of the Marriott Copley is the place to go to see skaters. I didn't see anyone I recognized today but did see some teams (not sure if Ice Dance or Pairs) in Swedish and Swiss warm up jackets. There is a sports bar restaurant called Yard House that is open to the 2nd floor lobby...

2025 ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Boston

Having attended a lot of international skating events, the start time is often moved later but the end time is almost never, IME moved back. This is the case when skater withdrawals happen as well. I imagine a lot of countries already have TV contracts in place to broadcast the last X groups...

    U.S. Women [#7]: Make Me a Believer!

So I saw in the Men's thread that Jason Brown passed whatever his monitoring entailed, despite not having competed since early November, and is confirmed for Worlds. Is Isabeau confirmed for Worlds? It's interesting that she felt compelled to show a triple triple combo at the Legacy on Ice...
