You have said lots of positive things and also said numerous negative comments. You are not alone and these boards seem to thrive on both. I agree size for both pair boys and girls is a current factor especially when putting teams together, but for the girls only you have posted several times...
The fact is many on this thread have favourites and everyone entitled to opinion. To me it is very obvious you have a lot of insight and favour Andrews. I respect everyone has favourites. But please stop trying to pretend to be an expert predicting these teenage pair girls’ growth/body...
This sparked curiosity so looked up Cdn Junior Pair PCS’s for FS and T/M had the highest in Canada by a smidge and highest ISU by a long shot (which was higher than their best Cdn PCS). Everyone is entitled to their opinion but the only ones that really matter are the judges. Always lots of...
I agree not holding my breath on any of the Cdn junior pairs heading to JGPF and that T/M strength was technical and lots of work was needed to improve presentation but their second mark dom/int’l was still amongst highest top Canadian junior pairs, so maybe an area of opportunity for many of...
Agree that YOG is a much bigger “event”, but JW has a higher age restriction which opens it up to way more top international junior pairs to qualify, making it a higher level competition even if there are few spectators. It makes sense that SC would have really wanted T/M to go to JWs as...
Hard to believe less than 2 weeks before Tallinn. SC very deliberate this year selecting both Jw & worlds team on more than just Nationals results and supports they want to invest in skaters who can best manage success under the pressure at the international level. Still surprised T/M did not...
You stated did not expect knock down/drag out fight amongst coaches and they respect wishes of skaters. I agreed, but regardless ultimately up to the skater who they want to be coached by.
You have mentioned a few times the coaches are ALL collaborating. I agree that some pairs coaches are...
Agree. I don't think anyone anticipates the coaches feuding as you mention, but ultimately skaters at a higher level are rather confident in looking out for their own best interests and be the ones to reach out to other coaching teams when a change is warranted. Time will tell.
Agree - by far best results all around for novice/junior/senior pairs. Will be interesting to see if any of Marcotte’s teams make the move from Oakville to Evans/Purkiss part of town.....
Junior pair girls like Patricia, Audrey & Brooke are all growing teenagers and only time will tell. In the volatile pair world partnerships guaranteed to change over time based on growth, abilities, commitment, etc.
Apparently Toste not finishing out season and hanging up skates to focus on school. It’s a shame as junior worlds only weeks away and skated they skated so well at YOG. https://youtu.be/EVI_ushTgNM
