Watching the news now. More people who were injured have presented to hospital overnight our time.
It's quite some time since anything like this has happened here, so everyone is very shocked.
I stopped after reading one.
Indeed. Although sometimes that doesn't work either. I was delaying reading each Outlander book until after the relevant season had aired on TV. But I got part way throught the fourth (I think) book, put it aside and never went back to it. They were also...
My Apple TV+ free trial is due to expire before I get to the final episode of Constellation and I'm trying to decide whether I actually care enough about the outcome to pay money for a month. Right now I'm thinking maybe not. There's a lot of padding to spin this series out to 8 episodes.
This. Am I curious about the surgery? Yes, that's a human thing. But still doesn't mean it's any of my business and I really wish people would leave the poor woman alone to recover.
I don't buy any 'in the public interest' arguments either. Assuming there is no ongoing issue which will affect...
Just a pity the version of Fanny in that film bore only a passing resemblance to Fanny of the book in a attempt to make her 'relatable' to a modern audience. Ditto 2007 ITV adaptation. But this is the book thread not a TV or movie thread so I'll say no more.
Once I figured out it is meant to be a very, very dry comedy it made more sense. I don't think it will be for everyone, but I liked it well enough that I'll watch the next episode.
Watched the first couple of episodes of Allegiance. It's basically a Canadian version of The Rookie, but nowhere near as engaging.
Currently halfway through episode one of The Regime. It's a bit quirky and I'm not sure whether or not I like it yet, but Kate Winslett is normally good value, and...
And yet the news here in Australia this morning was that Charles and Camilla may pay a royal visit later this year, which sounds rather more optimistic.
Someone recommended 'See' to me. I did start it but never felt inclined to watch more than a couple of episodes.
You're not. I liked the first season but didn't feel like it warranted a second one. And Kaley Cuoco's character annoyed me enough that I didn't want to see more.
I also enjoy The Rookie. It strikes a good balance between drama and humour and although it does go into the character's private iives the focus is always on the police work. Unfortunately it's on a free to air channel here so disappears and comes back randomly so I have to keep an eye out for...
They were commenting on the fact that the tabloids were up in arms because Harry only visited for 45 minutes, or that he was only coming as a publicity stunt, or came at the wrong time, or whatever suited their agenda. Basically, in their opinion and with no knowledge of the actual facts behind...
I saw someone comment this morning that the British tabloids are complaining the Harry visited his father the wrong way. But they'd also have complained if he hadn't visited at all. Doesn't matter what he does, someone will always say it's wrong.
I also miss series which have stand alone episodes and you can dip in and out without needing to watch them all in sequence. It feels like this is a lost art. I don't mind a good story arc, just not all the time.
