Emigrating out of the states? Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia?

What I read from New Zealand sounds continuously not bad, however, it could be that we're just not getting enough news considering that it's on the other side of the world. A former classmate moved from Germany (Berlin) to Singapore and loves it there. The only thing is that he's going to the...

Emigrating out of the states? Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia?

When considering where to emigrate, I'd also keep an eye on politics. Italy has Meloni, in Germany, the AfD is on the rise, Austria has a government that's to the right as well. Then there's Russia and the unknown of what will happen there. I think there are some great countries to emigrate...

Royalty Thread #16: the best of times, the worst of times

Hamburg, Germany has this huge model train exhibition which gets continuously added on (and isn't just about trains anymore). Last year, they opened their Monaco section, complete with a race car track. The royal family came for the opening, kids included. The video is in German but the opening...

    Question about at-will employment law

My employer is changing and the new employer has been hesitant to change the language regarding to termination that they have in their contract. It states that the agreement is for 12 months initially. It goes on to say that "Thereafter, this agreement will renew automatically for an additional...

    Air India flight crashed

I would be careful about anything that comes up on YouTube. The below is from the article from CNN that you shared. When something isn't "automatic", doesn't "move" itself "in any manner" and is "designed to be intentionally moved", it sounds to me like it's highly unlikely that it would fall...

Royalty Thread #16: the best of times, the worst of times

These are moments when I think to myself that they should just let them live in peace. I know they're public figures, the former two maybe more so than the latter two. However, they're also human-beings. And Will and Harry have gone through a lot. So, maybe whoever does the report should...

Royalty Thread #16: the best of times, the worst of times

The Sussexes death threats are public knowledge but I find it difficult to believe that they're the only royals receiving death threats. I'm sure they all get them, not just the BRF but other royal families, too. I also think that other public figures get death threats. It's possible that...

U.S. Figure Skating confirms that athletes, coaches, and family members were on American Airlines Flight 5342 that crashed in D.C.

Her words are beautiful (and heartfelt) overall but I especially liked how she ended the post.

I'm reading the tributes on the Instagram page of The Skaing Lesson and what really gets to me is how many families have been torn apart. Just heartbreaking. :wuzrobbed

Plane and Blackhawk helicopter crash in Washington DC

My condolences to anyone who lost friends or family! I didn't watch the video but the helicopter should have known to expect planes over the Potomac because all flights in and out of Reagan have to follow the Potomac from/up until a certain point. This crash is beyond puzzling.

    Terrorist attack in New Orleans

At least three people have died due to an explosion in Hawaii as well. While officials haven't released an official cause yet (and it occured only three miles from the headquarter of US Army Pacific), I've read elsewhere that it looks like this one wasn't terrorism or deliberate but caused by...

    Hurricane Helene & Hurricane Milton

I read that 200,000 bee hives were destroyed or damaged by both hurricanes across Florida, Georgia and North Carolina. As if the bee population weren't in trouble enough already :(

    Hurricane Helene & Hurricane Milton

Yeah, my parents have acquaintances in St. Petersburg. I don't know what the term is in English but they said the place that provides them with electricity and water were both destroyed, so it's going to take a while until they get either back. They chose to ride out the storm, don't know why...
