Skate Canada won’t host Alberta events due to sports gender law

Once again, Skate Canada's rules apply only to domestic competitions, not international ones. Simply identifying as female will not allow them to compete as a woman at the Olympics. But, competing as a woman at domestic competitions would prevent them from competing internationally as a male...

Skate Canada won’t host Alberta events due to sports gender law

Unlike a lot of trans athletic rules, under Skate Canada's rules, such a person would not have to medically transition at all to compete with women in domestic competitions, so they would have a physical advantage. But, what are the odds of such a thing happening, especially if they want to...

U.S. Women [#8]: Meet Me in St. Louis

The triple axels we've seen aren't <. Also, IMO, skaters who land triple axels sometimes get PCS bumps as a result. Of course, that doesn't mean that all her triple axels look like that in runthroughs. Alysa didn't just start practicing triple axels last week. She has been practicing them...

Skate Canada won’t host Alberta events due to sports gender law

I don't think think the person has to go through transgender treatment or have testoterone tests to skate as a woman under Skate Canada's rules for domestic competitions: "For participation in domestic events sanctioned by Skate Canada • Skaters in domestic events sanctioned by Skate Canada who...

And a very nice one. I wonder if she has reworked the Lady GaGa program to open with a triple axel.

    NBCSN Network to Return

I didn't subscribe just for January and February. I also subscribed for the Grand Prix series, and then I wanted to include both Nationals and the Olympics as well as Worlds. Financially, it made sense to get the annual subscription, but that wouldn't be the case if it turned out that Peacock...

    NBCSN Network to Return

That's the confusing part. I paid for an annual Peacock subscription because I expected to be able to watch Nationals and the Olympics. I will be very ticked off if I can't. The release says: “NBCSN is a win across the board – driving value for fans and distributors who prefer an...

    Isabeau Levito Fan Thread!

She first posted about the Red Bull sponsorship on Instagram in April: https://www.instagram.com/p/DITWAbaR4ME/?img_index=2 She had a photo shoot and video shoot not long afterwards, so maybe we'll see some ads? Various photos have been released online, and here is video of her skating in a...

The Dance Hall 13: When You Dance on the Ice and Your Feet Twizzle Twice, That's Amore

That wouldn't make him a woman. I was responding to your claim that people are complaining just because Piper is a woman and we wouldn't say anything if she were a man. That's pretty obviously untrue. I think it is stupid for them to be publicly complaining about placements and scores...

Nonsense. I called out Torgy as well. I think they were both stupid.

2026 Olympics Team Event - Strategy, Predictions & Discussion

Yes, the callers have a lot of power and could screw with things in the way that they call levels (as well as qs and <s). I agree that they should try to make calls in ways that are similar to the calls during the GP. I hope that will happen, but I'm not sure it will. And that's one more...

U.S. Women [#8]: Meet Me in St. Louis

ITA. I also think her ADHD may enter into this. It's really hard for some people with ADHD to shut off their brains and just do. It's not just about being distracted. The ADHD might help her to some degree by giving her some hyperfocus in training, but she has to control it so that she...

2026 Olympics Team Event - Strategy, Predictions & Discussion

It is flexible. In theory, that is so that they can pick the skaters they think will get the highest scores in Milan. They very much do not want the judges at Nationals to be the ones picking the team. They don't think that works well when it comes to picking the strongest team. I suppose...

So, they could select the Shibs or the Browns? I don't think so.

2026 Olympics Team Event - Strategy, Predictions & Discussion

Yes, but at SCI Ami finished fourth in the SP and third in the LP and third overall - behind Mone and Isabeau. And Ami doesn't have the senior big competition experience that Mone has. Like I said, I think you could make the argument either way.
