Kinda related to this: I think they kind of shot themselves in the foot by rebranding.
In the Russian cup, their skaters were able to get bonuses for any ultra-C elements, as well as for level 4 spins, if I remember correctly. That would have allowed them to brag about completely fake scores...
Someone had posted a summary on Twitter, but they've locked their account now. As it's been so widely discussed since, I've taken the liberty of reposting their notes here: https://pastebin.com/DXxyYiK8.
There's a video of Mark at a pulpit (I hope this link is allowed here! Apologies if not): https://www.goldenskate.com/forum/threads/mark-kondratiuk.87787/post-2978076. It had people wondering if they were all made to give speeches in front of Dear Leader.
I'm surprised the full thing isn't out...
Look, I can't be bothered to look up exactly how this particular case works, but I very much doubt there's an arrangement so the broadcaster gets more revenue from the announcers, seeing as:
1) those streams are fairly new, and I think 40k was the max number of viewers they'd achieved so far: a...
Whether 3 or 40k people watch on Youtube (or wherever), the announcers will spend the exact same amount of money, and get the exact same amount of business out of it. Do you usually watch those ads? Are they relevant to your country? And even if you did, and they did... you could just choose not...
[Provided we have access at all, which it seems we won't.]
If the videos are monetized and if you don't have an ad-blocker, then they could get some some income from the ads. I don't know if the videos are monetized, though. I've had an ad-blocker for years. They are not getting a cent from me...
Just started Severance, am really enjoying it. Something with the atmosphere, or maybe the visuals, reminds me of Counterpart. Great sci-fi!
I also recommend Frayed if you need a good laugh. That show is hysterical!
It's just odd to see a 22 year-old use such outdated/offensive terminology. Especially one that's been marketed as a genius relentlessly over the past 4 years.
Except... listen back to the interview: that wasn't even what the question was about. Chen was the one making that jump immediately...
I mean, saying skating is a "fairly homosexual dominated sport" and talking about "females" is... not a great look.
ETA: and that's barely even scratching the surface. This thread is a good summary.
Love The Good Wife. Brilliant show.
The Good Fight is great as well, and quite educational. I learned a lot from their season 3 animated shorts, about microtargeted ads, NDAs, microdosing...
It's more experimental, and obviously, very political.
Tumblr is always a good place to check out fan reactions to something: https://www.tumblr.com/tagged/a-week-away?sort=recent
2 caveats:
1) the page I'm linking to is a lot more readable if you're logged in (it only takes a second to create an account, just use a throwaway email)
2) The userbase...
