2026 Olys Pairs FS PBP - Are We Not Entertained?

And to think some people thought what this event needed was a third American pair. :shuffle:

Well the current champions were not here because of citizenship issues but given their level they deserved to be here, Kam and O´Shea exceeded expectations, 3 clean programs out of 4 and Chan-Howe did ok so a third american couple here was not that delusional

Not sure I agree with ConMac going ahead of ChanHowe, but whatever - felt that way after the SP too.

KamO - 3tw - excellent; SBS 3t - step-out by Ellie; SBS 3s+seq - and Ellie falls hard - ouch; guess we know when their luck ran out... Throw 3z - another fall; BODS - fine; throw 3lo - good; first lift - nice; combo spin - also fine; second lift - really beautiful; choreo seq - decent; last lift - good.

TES is dropping hard on review. :(

So, who had ChanHowe as the highest placing US team at the Olympics? Also, KamO are going home as Olympic champions, so they've had a great result regardless.

Kam/O'Shea - Their music is 'covers which I hate'.

Oh no, Ellie falling apart on the jumps, both SBS and first throw. :(

The lifts were fab as usual. They ended strongly but I think this will be behind both Italian teams at least. Again, they had a great team event so hopefully they can be happy for that segment of the comp.

Hey, she landed the throw! I mean, it sucks she fell, but they have generally performed beyond any of us reasonably skated. 3/4 clean skates is something to be proud of. They really didn't have a shot at an individual, and they brought it in the team event when it counts. And I don't think he even CARES that she fell. Tara's right, he really is a golden retriever.

All these teams with success in the TE feel like they don't have the energy and focus for the individual anymore. Same as in the men's event.

Ilia said he was the most prepared he could be for the men's free, Yuma has been skating like that in the free most of the year, Sarah Conti is injured.

What do we blame meltdowns from skaters who weren't in the team event on???

Cats is ALW. But I did forget Chicago.

But I dearly want to...

Think how many pearls we could clutch if someone skated to Candy Store!

I will immediately uber anyone who does this.

Well, you certainly went the opposite direction of what I was thinking.

I was thinking of musicals that opened on Broadway AFTER my mom graduated from high school. :shuffle:
I was thinking of musicals with truly beautiful songs + upbeat numbers as well. The skating world seems weirdly seems stuck in the '80s-'90s. But there's so much good stuff both before AND after that era!

I'm snacking on spicy peanuts from the Chinese supermarket, does that mean Sui/Han are going to have a good skate? (It was totally unintentional, I was just hungry :P )
