NBC's 2026 Olympics coverage in the U.S. (NBC, USA Network, Peacock for figure skating)

Unfortunate that they apparently won’t have commentators who know anything about pairs or dance.
Having commentators that talk nonstop is much more important than having commentators that know anything about skating

As far as I understand it - Music Rights. I always hope they will have the courage to push that a little bit. Not.
Please go back and find the part of the copyright law where you get a 24 hour music rights exemption. This is BS.

My tip of the day:
I've discovered that as long as I leave the Peacock window open on my laptop while the practice stream is still live, I can rewind the stream until it is deleted eventually. [Link to my 2 posts about Kaori's successful evening practice:] https://x.com/SylviaUnseen/status/2020273211427217445
Next practice livestream listed on Peacock is tomorrow - Sunday 2/8 from 7-9:30 am Eastern time - which corresponds to Ice Dance on the colored practice schedule.

NBC's Primetime broadcast tonight opens with the Team Event Men's SP: Grassl [Aymoz chacked - presumably because France did not qualify for Day 3], Egadze, Kagiyama, Malinin. ETA: Snoop Dogg fluff (segment was taped on Feb. 3 during his rink visit) was shown before Ilia's SP.

I rewound the Team Day 2 feed during the 50 minute break to watch someone I missed. It was the venue feed so maybe that's why it let me.

For some reason the Team Event Day 1 (Venue Feed) never made it to Peacock's replays but Day 2 is available.

NBC is replaying 4 of the 5 of the Team Event free dances now (sorry, LaLa :() - oh, Lajoie/Lagha's FD is on now (I misread the skate order), YAY!

ETA: Chock/Bates' Moms Fluff piece was aired before their FD.

ETA 2: I've posted YT links to both of NBC Sports' fluff pieces in Chock/Bates' and Ilia's fan threads.

FWIW, today's Peacock training (Sun Feb 8) is showing Team Pairs practice in Main Rink at the moment.

It started with approx. eight minutes of Dance in the Practice Rink, but then switched over to Main Rink.

According to my Guide, USA is chacking the 1st group of Dance today. Its not starting the broadcast until 1:45p-2:40 now, then NBC is starting 2:40p. Dammit. Dance were the only 2 days I couldn't take off work.

Yesterday's abbreviated PRIMETIME IN MILAN was after the Superbowl (10:45 p.m.-12 a.m. ET) and showed 4 free skates from the figure skating team event - Glenn, Sakamoto, Malinin, Sato (I wish Kam/O'Shea and Rizzo had been squeezed in as well).

MONDAY, FEB. 9 (DAY 3) - Peacock's Rhythm Dance (Venue Feed) is scheduled to start at 1:20 pm Eastern time.
USA NETWORK
1:20 now 1:45 p.m.-2:40 p.m. Figure Skating – Ice Dance, Rhythm Dance (LIVE)

NBC
2:40 p.m.-4:55 p.m. Figure Skating – Ice Dance, Rhythm Dance (LIVE)

PRIMETIME IN MILAN 8 p.m.-11 p.m. will include highlights from:
Figure Skating – Ice Dance, Rhythm Dance

ETA: Peacock has 2 practice livestreams today - one is happening now (the warmup area is being shown during ice resurfacing between the women's groups) and the other will be the RD warm-up, starting at 11:20 am ET.

ETA2: USA Network's start time for the RD has changed to 20 mins. later due to live curling matches.

Hmmmmm... I just looked yesterday while talking to my mom after the TE and my Guide has it starting on USA at 10:20am (PT) right on time. I remember because she wants me to text her before the skating starts so that she can watch it.

My Guide was like that last night when I went to bed (saying it started at 1:20p start time EST) but when I checked before I left for work it changed to 1:45p start time EST. Dammit. The whole thing better be on my DVR when I get home. Next Olympics I'm taking every single day of skating off and screw work. :angryfire

Oh, I see why it's changed. It's because the curling Semi-Finals are going on right now and Team USA is playing in one of them. When I checked about 15 min ago, the 2nd end had just finished, so NBC probably expects it to go until 10:45am PST. My guess is they'll join ice dancing in progress as soon as the curling semi-final is done.

:wuzrobbed. someone who is home watching USA channel Live come back and post what time they started to air skating so I can be mad ahead of time before I sit down to watch tonight.

There is an ice resurfacing happening right now after the 1st group & the USA stream/channel is currently wrapping up the interview with the US mixed doubles curling team. After this commercial break, they said they'll be joining figure skating, so it should be fine for the 2nd group onward.

The times are pretty much back on schedule. NBC has handled this by chacking the first four teams.

I'm thinking this may happen again - and again. I can see NBC using the Pt 1 of figure skating competitions to get their scheduling problems fixed.
