Danny G is a hack, but as long as he doesn't do their competitive programs I'm fine with it. Getting on the good side of Team Tutberidze can also get them more paying gigs, which is always a good thing.

Edit: I managed to find a livestream just in time to see T/M leaving the ice after the new program. I’m hoping it shows up somewhere later, but at a very minimum, Evgenia’s dress was gorgeous.

It is lovely as a gala program. It showcases their smooth glide, positions and lines.
The difference is in the height. Vladimir is typical Russian pairs skater. Vadim was quite short. Overall I don't see the similarities. Meno and Sand were too slow to be mentioned in the same breath, and Meno was a red head, so the hair color doesn't apply either.
I don't see T&M as similar to any other pair, past or present. We should set that issue to rest.
(I was reading some early posts and was tempted to comment on those).

I was going to try to find a different adjective, but lovely is the perfect word for it. I really like that for a gala program.
I think that dress may be my favorite of all the ones she’s ever worn.
I thought it was too plain. Just a plain black dress.
I would have liked Vova wear suspenders, like Jack did in the movie.
The program needs some romantic spots if they are playing those characters.
Do I sound too critical?

The program needs more outings. It’s obvious it’s very new choreo and they need to think it through still.
Wow! This is so different! The red beaded dress is beautiful. The fancam video posted earlier showed it as a plain black dress.
I am sure they need more mileage on that program.
ETA- I watched it again and saw the red dress, not plain black.

I thought that was a lovely programme. As always a beautiful twist and throw. I would have liked to have seen a solo jump. The lifts looked strong.
They got a great reaction from the audience. I was worried over Danil G doing the choreography but I was wrong.
It’s good to see them skating in some shows and being able to enjoy themselves after a very truing worlds experience.

).I think Evgenia's dress is beautiful and clearly designed to evoke this fabulous costume from the film:
As you can see, the original dress looked burgundy in some lighting/settings, and almost black under other lighting.

I am not sure Max really has the expertise to be their main coach. I am not sure he has the desire to taken on so much load. He can help with their pair elements and Sergei can help with their jumps but they really really need a real coach, like Tamara is for their two competitors.

I imagine she’ll still be involved as their choreographer, just not as their main coach.
I’ve read several times that T/M had wanted to Dmitriev after Mozer let them go, but it couldn’t be worked out. I do not understand why there is so much struggle to get a good team behind this pair. Also mind boggling are their struggles with funding and ice time this past season.

Talking of experience as a coach, G&G's coach was inexperienced but it worked out for them. I am just not sure that Max is committed to full time coaching. I think he cares about them but is that enough?
If they are going to choreograph their programs in May, probably they will have at least one new program Next season. They need to get the bad taste of this season out of their system, so I am all for two new programs.

If they're going to pull this off, Max is going to have to buckle down and let coaching them be his sole professional endeavor through this upcoming season.
I am also all for two new programs. Bolero has to go since they skated it two seasons. The FS needs to go because it has bad juju on it now and, as you said, they need to get the bad taste of this season out of their system. It wasn't a total wash--they did win nationals (which was their first win in two years), but they had so many struggles and a very disappointing worlds. I'm hoping that Marina has some magic up her sleeves and gives them a perfect set of programs.
I still think if they could just skate a completely clean competition, they could win it all. When they are clean, they execute better than anyone else and they have better components.

I wish they would go to Keegan Messing's coach in Alaska. Somehow I think just looking at that guy when they're about to go on the ice would make them smile and break the tension.

Maybe so? We all hope things are better, but we just have no idea how it’ll actually be. Not having to worry about the travel back-and-forty could be a consideration.
