Holy crap. i sort of knew what was coming, but that packed a punch. This is the first time an episode has made me cry. And I don't even really like kids.

:wuzrobbed

And I still don't buy that Carol killed Karen and David. Whatever, writers. You had an excellent episode until that reveal.

I was spoiled but this episode was really a hard one even knowing what was coming. So many moments in this that were just breathtakingly painful. Bravo to Melissa McBride for this episode - so many actors would have been all crying and over the top with these scenes, but the quiet way she acted was pitch perfect.

Pocket sized psycho Lizzie just needed to go. Not surprised that Tyreese couldn't do it. Carol always gets the tough job,

Did anyone get flashbacks of Carl getting shot when the deer kept popping up?

Carol's character transformation is one of the best on the show. She started out as a timid abused wife, but has become one of the strongest characters on the show. You do wonder where her breaking point is. She did what had to be done, but those things leave terrible scars unless you are as disturbed as poor Lizzie. Melissa was on Talking Dead and she said when the producer gave her the script, he said he just wanted to Carol to walk away with grace. I thought Melissa portrayed that with spades.

This episode needs to be submitted for an Emmy. Melissa was just pitch perfect in it.

Yvette Nicole Brown needs to always be the celebrity guest on Talking Dead. Always. I don't know who that twit was who was on with Norman Reedus (not Emily Kinney, the other one :p), but I can't even rewatch that episode. And, you know, Norman is on there. But that f*cking guy....

I love Yvette. She's my favorite guest to have on Talking Dead. She's really knowledgeable about the show and she gives good insight as well...plus she's funny as hell! I figured with how heavy the episode was, we were in for another post-Hershel death Talking Dead (where the show was like a funeral), but thanks to Yvette the tone of the show upbeat enough to keep me from getting depressed. I love her! I hope they have her back for the finale...along with Norman and Chad! They were on the couch for last season's finale and it was my favorite episode of Talking Dead that season.

On to the episode...

Holy !#$%balls, that was intense!! Amazingly well-written episode and brilliantly acted from everyone. I feel so sorry for little Mika. She was such a gentle soul. I don't doubt she'd have been okay when it came to protecting herself from walkers, but 9 times out of 10 someone else would have ended up killing her b/c she didn't have it in her to hurt a living thing.

And Lizzie... That kids was SO screwed up...it was obvious she was leaning towards sociopath, what with the bunny dicing she was doing, but this episode proves that it was so far beyond that. She just didn't understand what the walkers were, that they were not friends/playthings/pets, and that they had to be treated as monsters. She just didn't get it...to the point she convinced herself that they just wanted her to be like them and that it's okay to kill people b/c they'll just come back. Not only did she kill Mika, if Tyrese and Carol hadn't come back when they did, she'd have killed Judith too! She saw nothing wrong with the fact that she killed Mika b/c in her mind Mika wasn't dead b/c she'd come back. Even before Carol shot her she wasn't upset with Mika's death; she was upset b/c she thought Carol was mad at her for pulling the gun on her.

She needed to be put down...there was no option but to take her out. It's one thing to treat walkers like stray animals but it's another to kill living people for the purpose of turning them into walkers. No one was safe around her. The whole scene definitely had shades of Old Yeller to it. That Carol was the one to do it made it even more heartbreaking but at the same time, I don't think Tyrese would have been able to.

And then at the end when Carol confessed to Tyrese, you could see that she'd resigned herself to whatever he thought needed to be done. But I do think coming out on the end of the whole Lizzie situation gave Tyrese a different perspective/insight as to why Carol did what she did. I think him saying "I forgive you" was an amazing moment in the episode. Forgiveness is a powerful almost divine thing. To know that he was still suffering with the way he lost Karen and then to have him forgive Carol just like that...it was an incredible moment.

Unbelievable episode. "The Grove" is this season's "Clear." Amazingly written and perfectly acted. Only 2 episodes left!

FWIW: I do not think Carol was/is covering for Lizzie. Lizzie would have killed Karen/David(?) and let them turn to walkers; not burned the bodies...that'd have robbed her to two pets. She was more concerned about keeping the walkers safe than she was about keeping the humans safe.

The series gets over-looked at the Emmys. McBride does deserve an Emmy nomination, especially for this episode. Many people don't know she use to be a casting director before TWD.

Any comments on tonight's episode? A pretty good episode even without Carrol but I did miss her. I have so many questions; Will Daryl turn to a villain, will Maggie bite the dust soon, is Terminus filled with cannibals, does Eugene really have what it takes to save the world, what is the "secret" the good sergeant is keeping?

Eugene cracked me up. I know some people don't like humor on this show, but it can't be all serious all the time. I suspect he has no idea what caused the ZA, but he can stick around for a bit.

I think it was stupid of Glenn and Tara to go in the tunnel, but it does harken back to when Glenn was a bit of a badass at the beginning of the show, and I did like that some groups finally linked up.

I do think Maggie is toast. That burning of the picture was a giant anvil, imho. Of course, I thought Daryl sleeping the coffin also meant he's gone. Maybe they are both toast. :fragile:

Why do women keep hurting their ankles on this show?

Great episode last night! My brain is still buzzing and I'm dumping it all here. I've got so many questions, theories, worries and I'm TERRIFIED for the season finale next week.

Okay, Eugene first. I get the distinct impression Eugene was chilling in his mom's basement playing video games, eating Totino's pizza rolls and swigging Mountain Dew when the apocalypse hit. With all of his video game knowledge he came to the conclusion that he knows what's going on and that he can save the world. All uber-nerds hope to go on a quest a la Frodo to Mordor and save Middle Earth from Sauron...I'm a bit of a nerd myself BTW ;). Anyhoo, I feel like he's convinced himself he's the savior of mankind even though he has no idea what's going on or how to stop it. Somehow he found two idiots (Abraham and Rosita) to accompany him despite the fact I find it completely impossible that NO ONE has asked Eugene to explain what he claims to know. Everyone is accepting that he has some valuable info that can save the world yet no one has thought question the validity of his claims. I don't get that at all...I think he's full of shit.

I LOLed when Glenn took out running when he saw Maggie's note on the sign, like he was going to run the rest of the way to Terminus . That was great! I'm glad they were able to reunite but I'm really nervous about Maggie burning that picture. In this show, saying or doing something like that is usually an indicator of something, like they're tempting fate. Their reunion was a much needed sweet moment after all they've been through. I really hope they make it through this...

Another sweet moment was Michonne and Carl racing on the train tracks:). I really like their relationship and how much it's warmed Michonne's character up as a person. Their connection is really sweet and, after everything that has happened and what they're still going through, it's nice that they have that. Rick is benefiting from it too. Happy Carl = Happy Rick, so that's good.

I hate that Daryl is with those Claimer guys but as of now, it's the best he can do. I think he's joined up with them b/c there is strength in numbers and even though those guys are definitely bad news, he sees they can help protect him. It's not like a Meryl situation from last season though, where you have to wonder where his allegiances lie. I don't doubt that if the Claimers caught up to Rick & Co. that Daryl would bail on them in an instant...but for now he's got the respect of the leader guy and the group can offer him protection so, like they say, when in Rome (the claiming of the strawberry at the end). He's just hanging out until he finds a reason to jump ship.

I have no idea what's happening in the final episode but I do know that I'm getting HORRIBLE vibes from Terminus. It's so eerie. I mean, they had no locks or protection/monitoring of any kind at the entrances; anyone or anything could have just wandered in. Everything was super-clean and well-kept...but where the hell was everyone? It was way too quiet to say this is supposed to be a hub that's pulling in people from all over the area. Yeah, there may be people inside but why was that lady the only person outside? Think about what Woodbury or the prison looked like during the day: people moving around, doing chores, etc. The lack of activity/noise is not good IMO. And that lady, Mary...very kind and sweet-looking...and yet she creeps me the hell out! :scream:

The first thing that went through my mind...cannibals:yikes:. I'm not kidding. At the beginning of the season I recall reading something about a group in the comics that were cannibals...I'm getting a very heavy vibe from this place. And what was with the giant slabs of meat on that huge grill? And the first thing Mary says, "Let's fix you a plate." That's very telling IMO. One thing is for sure: Terminus is not what it seems. I think it's going to be 10x worse than Woodbury.

Lots of people online are speculating that if Terminus is home to cannibals that it might be Beth on that grill . I do see a connection b/w the cleanliness and order of Terminus that we saw at that house Beth and Daryl found before they got separated. Maybe that was one of their outposts and they're the ones who snatched her? We know it wasn't the Claimers...so who else could it be? I'm not feeling too great about Beth's chances right now.

I have no idea what's going to happen next week. In that very short promo clip, we only see Rick, Michonne, Carl and Daryl...no one else. Where are Carol, Tyrese and Judith? We now see that Maggie, Sasha and Bob were in the lead on the way to Terminus, followed by Glenn, Tara, Abraham, Rosita and Eugene. They've all caught up to each other. Rick, Michonne and Carl are next, and Daryl and the Claimers aren't too far behind them. We don't know where Carol & Co. are in relation to Daryl; in front of them or behind? I have no idea! All we know for sure is that Daryl is behind Rick...

The promo gives nothing away and it's driving me nuts! The main thing that sticks out to me is Rick sitting there covered in blood/guts, looking stunned. Why? Do they make it to Terminus? What was with the room with all of the candles? Where is everyone else? Is that Mary lady really serving everyone Beth burgers? WHAT HAPPENS?! These next 7 days are going to kill me!

Probably highly inappropriate but the terminus scene reminds me of scenes from the TV movie "Escape from Sobibor". When the trains arrive at the death camp, all you see is these beautiful little houses, fences, and lots of flowers. The new arrivals had Jo idea they were minutes from death. To show how clueless they were, a new arrival tips one of the "baggage handlers".

I noticed that too. Maybe they wore heels their entire life and are still getting use to wearing flats. :p

The only time I've ever tripped was when I've had to go up stairs in stupid flats.

I think Terminus is going to be very, very bad. And there is some speculation that RICK is going to die. That would be....unexpected.

That's what went through my mind, too. Although my first thought was maybe they were eating zombies - though zombies aren't edible, are they? Wouldn't you just get sick or die if you ate one of them?

Well, even if you're eating "fresh" humans, they're still infected....so I guess you'd have to eat them before they turned. Hmm, all these weird things to consider in a zombie apocalypse.

I think the flashbacks showed "peaceful" Rick.

Bad Ass Rick is back. As is bad ass Daryl, thank Ceiling Cat.

Also, that was the last time the band was together, and now they are all back together again. :cheer2:

I'm also hoping that was Beth's ribcage they ran by. :EVILLE:

And they need more Rick and Daryl interaction. I love watching those two together. :)

Great finale. :)

I was so nervous the whole time. That scene with Joe and the Claimers (they could be a band!) sneaking up on Rick, Michonne and Carl was intense. I really wasn't sure how they were going to get out of that one...but then Rick... I mean, whoa! I thought it was awesome!! He's been trying so hard to repress that rage and savage side of him, but he dove in head first and literally bit that guy's neck off! It was incredible!!

Lesson to be learned: don't mess with Carl. I think that was hella disturbing. Joe told him we're gonna beat Daryl to death, rape your friend and then rape your son and then kill you...I'd have bitten his damn neck off too! Everyone was so shocked by what happen they just froze. I find I get the most excited about Rick when he does stuff like that. Like in season 3 when he macheted the guy in the head in front of everyone. When he does what he needs to do without worrying about whether or not it's right is when he is at his most awesome. I totally dig bad ass Rick. More of him please.

Loved the brotherly love b/w Rick and Daryl. I had a moment of giddiness when they were heading to Terminus. It was great seeing Rick, Daryl and Michonne moving all stealth-ishly through the woods...Carl too, but not really. That's the ultimate walker strike team: Rick, Daryl, Michonne. No other combination of people kicks more ass than they do.

I never trusted Terminus...not for a second. If it's too good to be true, especially in that world, it probably is. I'm glad we got through the episode with no one dying. I was worried there for a minute. Glad the group is back together for the most part (still don't know where Carol, Tyrese, Judith and Beth are...though I suspect Beth is on the grill:D).

I'm excited for next season but I hate we have to wait until October! Ugh!

At least Game of Thrones starts this Sunday. That should help to ease my TWD withdrawal symptoms.

Did you notice Daryl offered his hanky from his back pocket? Someone on TWOP pointed that out. If Daryl offers you his red hanky, you are definitely in his good graces.

Someone else noted that when Daryl tells you to clean up, you must be a total mess. :p

And OMG Andrew Lincoln on the Talking Dead. Why couldn't they have made Rick a transplant from England so we could hear that gorgeous accent all the time? :swoon:
