Kings Cup International is a new Senior & Junior B international for singles skaters being held at Toyota Sports Performance Center in El Segundo, California in conjunction with the LA Autumn Classic NQS for singles, hosted by the Los Angeles FSC.

ISU's event page for Kings Cup International (only the Announcement is linked there now): https://www.isu.org/figure-skating/...0/33/kings-cup-international?templateParam=11

Also affiliated is the inaugural Pacific Rim Advanced Novice Open, a domestic invitational that used to be known as the U.S. Novice [and Junior] Challenge Skate - entries and event schedule to come.

Kings Cup preliminary entries passed along to me (these are not all confirmed; withdrawals could still happen) - ISU Bios are linked if program music is updated:

Senior Men (7): Goku Endo, *Kai Kovar, Samuel Mindra, *Yaroslav Paniot, Andrew Torgashev from USA; Ze Zeng FANG (MAS), Fang-Yi LIN (TPE)

Senior Women (9): Starr Andrews, *Ting Cui (currently lacks a FS ISU minimum score), Hanna Harrell, *Hannah Herrera & Audrey Shin from USA; Andrea Astrain (MEX), Eugenia Garza (MEX), *Katherine Ong (MAS), Barbora Vrankova (CZE)

Junior Women (12): *Sonia Baram, Annika Chao, *Lilah Gibson, Mia Kalin, *Ella Kim, *Teryn Kim & *Cleo Park from USA;
Cecilia Donohue (ARG), Hayden Balucating (PHI), Elena Mills (BRA), *Viktoria Paje (debut for PHI), Sadie Weng (TPE)

Junior Men (5): *Nicholas Brooks, Nhat-Viet Nguyen, *Zachary LoPinto & *Vaclav Vasquez from USA; Yu-Hsiang LI (TPE)

* = first opportunity for ISU TES minimums

This is an ISU Minimum Technical Score event and ISU World Standings points may be allocated for the Senior & Junior women (Senior & Junior men are not eligible due to having less than 8 entries).

Kings Cup preliminary schedule in EMS for Friday, October 6 in the NHL Rink:
Junior Men International SP 1:00-1:35 pm Pacific time; Junior Women International SP 1:55-3:20 pm PT.

SP starting orders are posted - 4 Senior men are listed for Saturday's SP (Murzin, Sjoberg, Yeung, Sandraz) and 14 Senior women for Friday's SP - ISP skaters are Katie Shen, Sonia Baram (also doing Kings Cup Jr.?), Soho Lee, Lindsay Wang (her 1st NQS), Nicole Park, Josephine Lee. Vaclav Vasquez is listed in Junior Men (will he WD in favor of Kings Cup Jr. or do both?).

I hope Ting skates at Kings Cup since there is a chance of having a stream but I did notice that she is also listed for the Boston Open competition on October 6 & 7.

Skaters started registering for NQS/their events in June and July. I'm assuming she registered for Boston before receiving word of the assignment.

Go Vaclav Vasquez! This is his first opportunity to earn ISU TES minimum scores.

54.78 for Vasquez.

JGP competitor Yu-Hsiang LI (TPE): http://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00111196.htm
It’s too bad he traveled so far and won’t get any ISU WS ranking points.

Ivan Dinev & Amy Evidente were by the boards for him - landed Ripp3Lz, 2A, 3F+3T. 66.94! and he wins! :)

Sonia's jumps weren't really there today. I think she's grown a bit. That's a nice program for her, though, full of choreographic detail that she handles well. 44.35.

I am a bit confused this with LA Autumn Classic which also has novice men competitions and both are held at the same place and at the same weekend (I guess?). What are the differences?

Autumn Classic is a regular NQS comp. The Kings Cup and Advanced Novice Open are invitational, i.e. skaters needed to be chosen/assigned by USFS.

Teryn Kim landed 2A, 3F+3T<? & 3Lz landing was nicely held. Into 2nd with 54.50! Her SP music:
The first part is Paganini's "La Campanella" -- I searched online and discovered that BLACKPINK's "Shut Down" (used in the second part of Teryn's SP) "samples the beginning of the third movement of Italian composer Niccolò Paganini's second violin concerto, commonly known as 'La Campanella'."
Alina Milevska choreographed Teryn's SP. :)

Mia is making an attempt at presenting her choreo, but still too much flailing and not holding positions enough, not enough extension and still looks like she could be skating to anything. Still too Eteri-girl for my liking.

Mia Kalin (Rain, In Your Black Eyes by Ezio Bosso) - jumps: 2A, 3Lz, 3F+3T (‘q’ rotation on one or both?). She’s visibly making an effort to improve her PCS. :) 58.67 1st.

Thanks, Debbie!
I hope that they add "Invitational" at the end of the comp's name (some actually do) as these things are sometimes confusing to me.
