I don't know how much training time they missed after her injury in France, but this was a disaster.

I’m increasingly convinced that this is not a good partnership for Ellie’s development as a pairs skater.

It’s not a good sign when it’s almost a relief that the second partner splats too.

Does she regularly land the throw triples in practice? If not, maybe it would be wiser to go back to doing doubles for now. None of their throws really looked close here.

I’m guessing they lost training time (lift), but the throws/jumps looks worse this year. Yes, they did lots of doubles last year, but the triples aren’t even close.

What I find most questionable for this pair and their future is that she doesn’t look like she’s ever even come close to landing a throw triple. It would be one thing if she was just a little off and missing them, with a clear demonstration of being able to land the throw. But she looks like she’s never landed one even in practice. I know there was an injury a couple of weeks back, and I really hope she’s ok. But this performance didn’t look entirely dissimilar to other performances. I just won’t how much longer they will keep trying.
