Even if they did get that call, they'd likely be at 140 anyways. That PCS might be going up up up all season.

Which I'd be fine with. Unlike in ice dance, where they are practically handing out 10s on PCS and +5 GOEs, like nothing could improve in 5 months.

I think a lot of it has to do with the heavy makeup worn for competition.

We couldn’t end the comp. with Deanna/Max’s awesome FS but at least the Pairs victory ceremony will be the final one!

Yay, Deanna! (Who I have a very strong memory of cheering on way back at one of the Keri Lotion cheesefests in the Tri-Cities, WA). Kudos to Stellato-Dudek & Deschamps for coming together & delivering at an event where the pairs were tough too sit through.

Think the Hungarians were also quite happy about skating up to their potential here.

Deanna after that program reminded me of Krylova at the end of her Carmen FD at the Olympic in 1998. The intensity and fire was amazing. She was so pumped. Love it.

My cat is hiding under the coffee table in vicarious shame.

Mine both left the room. They were so disturbed they are sitting close together in the study, and they are pretty much never together if they can help it.

Deanna's costume is BLEEDING FROM THE NECK. But in a sparkle way!

I was thinking it was a weird design, then when I realised what they were skating to, I thought it was inspired. What a great program.

She is an inspiration and shows what can be achieved if you are able and willing to put in the work.

They are skating like a top ranked elite pair team now and it's going to be a rough season on me because I am now emotionally invested in their success

Maxime is such a fabulous, hard-working athlete who is also super kind and generous. We can't forget Max!

That was a very enjoyable pairs event, I loved the medalists' skates and their reactions. Deanna and Maxime were so, so good. I loved that program and much respect to Maxime for letting Deanna fly and yet containing her fierceness that made the program so intense! They were amazing truly. Well deserved win. Watching the exhibition right now and Alicia and Paul just skated, they were another pair that I really enjoyed.

I love fierce pair girls, Alexa Knierem is my fave but Deanna is a very close second!

I’m catching up on some of the free programs, what was the costume reveal for Deanna and Max? Was it some thing about his shirt? I don’t know I couldn’t tell any costume reveal.

The top of his shirt gets opened revealing red "blood" is also coming from his throat. It's extremely subtle and easy to miss. I saw this program earlier this season and though I replayed it a number of times I never actually noticed when it was done and couldn't spot it even when told when to watch for it. I didn't play that part especially to catch it, just wanted to re-watch the complete program, so I always got to the end and noticed the difference during the bows.
