Who wants to bet the USFS is calling Jason Brown on speed dial to see if he could be ready for Nationals after this SP?
When he was younger, it wasn't that bad! I'm sure I've seen worse. But he did have the world's worst Biellmann spin, so that's worth at least three transitions
He's already stated he plans on competing at Nats. US men, apart from Ilia, are the same as ever.Who wants to bet the USFS is calling Jason Brown on speed dial to see if he could be ready for Nationals after this SP?

No. He said that he was going to stick with what worked last season again this season very early on in the summer, well before Champs Camp.Oh thanks, I didn't know. I guess they called him after Champs Camp then.
Very quick, each shared their post-skate thoughts, Ilia got two questions about the flamenco choice (one being from @Eislauffan), and Shun got one asking how he felt with his skate. And that's all.Men's SP presser is starting soon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0pIoZFlm80

Lol. Well, Jason knows that US men are gonna US men...Must you kill my snark, woman???
That sit spin was amazing! Plushenko was and always will be one of my very favorite skaters of all time. And I absolutely loved Toller too ... he was the reason I even notice figure skating in the first place. When he was younger, it wasn't that bad! I'm sure I've seen worse.
And he did this 33-rev sit spin which was pretty cool: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pn5Oy6kAT-I&t=65s

Nobody puts Toller in a cornerHe would have been the first to tell us that too! He said he invented that style that every male skater copied after him.
I agree with this. I think Ilia will have to give it up pretty soon too. Males have too much muscle mass in their backs for the Biellman spins. And, besides, we see more than enough of them from the women.Honestly, I'd wager Plushy's Biellman contributed to his back issues as much as training the quads. Even when he did it well you could tell how much strain it caused him.
You got that right. I still remember the interview with Toller where he was asked whether Elvis Stojko lived in the same part of Mexico as he did. Toller, replied (completely deadpan), "No, I wouldn't allow that."Nobody puts Toller in a corner
The man could tell a story. He is def on my list of skaters (dead or alive) I’d invite to a dinner party. Moskvina is also on the list and man if those two got together…You got that right. Being in the audience he has really worked at looking out and making eye contact. It was much better in practice so hopefully it will get there during competition.he's looking down just like his mama liked to do.
twas a choice, wasn't it?So after reading this thread, I fast-forwarded the replay straight to The Lion King. It did not disappoint.
Yo! Singles Skaters! It takes two to tango! Will someone please tell the single skaters to stop doing tangos? Please?
Ok when he first shimmied at the judges people around me were literally laughing. Even my kids were like "Mom I don't think this is very good."So after reading this thread, I fast-forwarded the replay straight to The Lion King. It did not disappoint.
ok so the funny thing about this is that I noticed he was making a lot of eye contact with the judges to start off. I almost wrote on here that it seemed pretty obvious he was told to look at them more. But after that you could tell his focus was really on getting the jumps out of the way. Once those were done he relaxed again but kind of forgot about looking up haha.but he's looking down just like his mama liked to do. Definitely my favorite program he's done, and much, much better than the LP.
Jason, Camden, Jimmy, Tomoki.A general question: does US team have any members who are not sons of ex-Soviet figure skaters?

The interesting thing to me is that during the very short press conference, he said something about being so into the program and really letting loose. I found that intriguing because I agree exactly with what you wrote. He seemed to get into it but in his own world, and he didn’t really skate in an ‘open’ way.ok so the funny thing about this is that I noticed he was making a lot of eye contact with the judges to start off.
