Saw this clip on Twitter. Apparently Emi and Vadym were on Tiktok when the GP assignments dropped and they were so happy to be assigned to Skate America and NHK. So exciting to finally see them in their home grand prix.

This moment was adorable. Thanks for sharing. I caught this when they were on tiktok live and they were literally talking about their top wishes, with Skate America and NHK #1 and #2. But Emi said it was a "tall order." They've talked about wanting to visit Tokyo so many times

Well by any measure they are now US#1 so not surprised by SA. I’m glad they get to go to Japan and start building an audience there.

So happy for Emi and Vadym that they received their dream assignments of Skate America and NHK Trophy.

As things stand now*, NHK will be the third competition in Japan of their career, but their first in Tokyo.

They were delighted to make their maiden voyage to Japan for 2025 Kinoshita Cup (Challenger) in Osaka in September. And as if qualifying for their first GPF were not already exciting enough, the location serendipitously was Nagoya, meaning they had the unexpected pleasure of a second trip to Japan three months later. I hope that their Japanese fanbase already was jump-started in the Olympic season, and will expand this season.

*Footnote: Only my speculation, but would not surprise me if they were to return to Kinoshita Cup, for which the 2026 location will be Tokyo (per ISU calendar).

They said it's going to be a flamenco! That sounds very much like Nyah! I'm so pumped for it! I think it suits their style very well. They're not playing safe at all this season, which is what you want for a young, rapidly improving team.

my heart aches for him, Kyrylo and the other Ukrainian athletes. This must be difficult for them.

Vadym has had to develop wisdom and perspective well beyond his years. I expect he worries about his father and brother night and day. I hope skating provides him reprieve from it, at least for a few hours a day.

They skated to Hozier and Macklemore in Sun Valley. Per a skater friend, they were an absolute delight, and were happy to mingle with the audience late into the night in spite of their early flight to Mexico the next morning. Fantastic crowd too - sold out show.

Vadym reunited with his dad at Worlds in Prague after many years apart because of the war. It's also very touching that he gave him his bronze medal. What a thoughtful son.

This week Emi talked about her struggles with her family after making the decision to switch to ice dance. It must have been so difficult for her as she's super close to her family. Thank goodness it all worked out!

The interviews from Peak Ice camp have been really good. I really enjoyed Isabeau's too. I normally don't do Tiktok but recently followed them and they're just so cool in their lives. You can pretty much ask whatever question and they either answer it or say they can't talk about it. It's like talking to friends!

On X there’s an account called @zingnikclips that often posts the best parts of their TikTok lives. But yeah I wish the app would fix that glitch

Emi said on her latest TikTok video that they had to change their RD so they aren’t doing Mission Impossible anymore. They just started doing full runthroughs of it. She didn’t give any hints but said she’s excited because she designed her costume and loves it. She still needs to work on Vadym’s.

Emi talks about the RD in her latest GRWM tiktok video on their channel. They've finished the new one and can do runthroughs. She says that that their new RD is going to be another controversial pick but she's very excited about it and thinks it will be way better than the first one.
