I am excited to see it fully fleshed out, though they've probably had very limited time to practice it as they've been so busy. Igor is one coach who actually trained teams to the world podium when the GW was an actual compulsory, so we'll see. As for the quote tweets, clearly some people don't understand what marking is
I hope you told them they have many enthusiastic fans!I chatted with Emi and Vadym last night at the Hershey SOI meet & greet. They were very nice and friendly, clearly happy to be on the tour. They said they are excited about their Bolero program and the choreo is challenging. I asked them how the GW was going (I hadn't seen the post above) and they said they've been learning the pattern, the fast beat is challenging, they've been practicing a bit on tour but the ice surface for SOI is smaller than standard size so they are only able to mark the pattern.
Emi said they are hesitant to practice it in front of the audience b/c people will think it looks bad b/c of the issues with the smaller surface. She may have seen those comments.

Sweet! I was also reminded by Twitter that it was on this day four years ago (May 15, 2022) that they announced their partnership.Emi and Vadym are on their annual vacation in Marco Island, Florida. They have a couple of skater friends with them - including Emily Bratti and Ian Somerville, and Starr Andrews and Luke Wang! I think it's cool to see off-ice friendships across different schools and disciplines!

Just got around to reading this and they really gave out thoughtful answers here. I did not know that Emi and Vadym grew up in the same faith. I still remember that their parish welcomed them home after the Olympics & Worlds and honored them during a church service, complete with plaques made to go up on the church walls. Emi said they wanted to mix it up. Talked to them at the Meet and Greet and they are headed to Italy for Benoit’s camp after four days at home. They are soooo nice and Vadym apologized for being so chatty But it was so great to talk to them since it felt like we had to rush through the other skaters.

It's pretty clear when talking about their future that Chock/Bates are going to retire. I think these two have a good balance of ambition as well as a good head on their shoulders, and that'll serve them well in the next quad. In addition, I think people forget that Vadym had surgery last year and was off the ice for 7 weeks. As a result, they mentioned that they couldn't even do spins until 2 weeks before Champs Camp. So I think they're all on track this year.
This is true. There's only so much money to come around in skating unless you have endorsements, etc. Pretty impressed with Emi and Vadym's diary nonetheless, considering they don't have an agent!
Every other US Olympian in skating this year seems to be with a major agency, I’m surprised they still don’t have one.
Emi and Vadym are learning to do backflips at Benoit's camp in Courmayeur, Italy! It's unlikely to be for their programs. I think they're just having fun trying new things as they always do. I don't know about Vadym, but wow, Emi's tumbling pass is impressive! This is the second video. She already posted a first video about it on Tiktok.
