No Presidents!!! Four figures---politicians, leaders, writers, artists, athletes, anyone you feel is important to American history FROM YOUR POINT OF VIEW. I saw this on another site and someone had picked Lou Reed and someone else Michael Jordan. You are not limited to one group of four. And it can be from one group or a mix of anyone and everyone. Have fun. I'm curious to know who non-Americans would pick as their influences--good or bad. Yanks too!!!

Ben Franklin
Mark Twain
MLK
Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Linus Pauling, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs (as some sort of multi-headed US Science hydra...I can't pick just one)

It would be better if there could be a woman on there, but I'm having trouble thinking of one that had the wide ranging effects that these guys did on the culture (mostly because up until recently women could not be in a position to do so).
Eleanor Roosevelt? Susan B. Anthony? Too bad the US doesn't have an equivalent of Marie Curie.
