Assuming the top 2 favorites Savchenko-Massot, Sui-Han, win gold and silver as expected, who will the bronze medal. The top contenders to me seem to be Duhamel- Radford, and the top 2 Russian teams, but Yu-Zhang, and even Cipres-James should not be totally discounted. And yes it is possible Savchenko-Massot and Sui-Han wont go 1-2, I dont think this is as set as the dance and ladies are, but that seems to be atleast 85% likely right now. For someone else to win gold or silver one of those two teams must make major mistakes and someone else skate cleanly, and they have been the 2 most consistent teams overall this year.

I went with Tarasova-Morozov. I want it to be Duhamel-Radford since I am Canadian, but even though their long program this year is unwatchable I think T&M are more likely to skate cleaner than D&R, especialy as they have a much less risky series of elements. Their SP has also been really good, they could be well ahead of D&R in the short unless D&R have a really clean short like the Canadians and that is rare.

Interesting to see Duhamel & Radford with more votes than T&M in the early going. They werent impressive to me at Canadians. Their short program was their best this season, but their long wont cut it against tougher opposition. Their score really is meaningless in a competition Moore-Towers & Marinaro break 140 without even skating cleanly, and V&M get 3s by ever judge on every element in a particular dance, they should have been over 160 really.

My heart says D/R, my head says T/M.

Sorry to be conspiratorial, but Russia's best chance at a medal aside from Ladies is Pairs. I wonder if T/M might get politicked onto the podium.

Well I think Kolyada has a medal shot right now. The men have been so inconsistent this year that Chen is undefeated despite not skating his best anywhere. Kolyada had a huge shot to win the GPF, but he ended up making more mistakes than Chen and about the same number as Uno which cost him the event. He has a shot at the bronze atleast the way the men have been so far even if I expect (or pray) they up it atleast a notch for the Games.

It’s not clear if any Russian skaters will be allowed to compete yet! I don’t feel comfortable voting for any Russians.

I love James & Cipres. my dream result would be the bronze from them but I think it would take the skate of their lives ala Europeans last year and a lot of mistakes by the others for that to happen. Here is hoping.
