https://www.nbcolympics.com/schedule - Broadcast schedule. You can filter for just TV or for everything. You can also filter by sport or athlete.

https://www.nbcolympics.com/full-schedule - NBC's complete schedule. I like allezfred's official site schedule even better - see his threads for each days' competition.

Notes

- Opening and Closing ceremonies will be broadcast both live and in primetime. Opening ceremonies start tomorrow, Friday, July 26th at 1:30 pm eastern. The preview show starts at 11:00 am. I think the live show will probably show things that are not included in the prime time broadcast.

- ALL sports will be streamed on Peacock. Every event will be live. I even splurged for the premium package for one month to avoid the commercials. It is much better for me.

- Thinking ahead. if you want to be able to watch your favorite sports later on, you will want to record them. I also suggest you watch as much as you can on Peacock during the next few weeks. Do not plan on Peacock keeping coverage available for too long after the Olympics are over. I notice that coverage from Beijing on Youtube is ONLY the coverage from the official Beijing broadcast. It is almost impossible to find coverage from other broadcast entities - like Eurosport, or the Canadian coverage, or the NBC coverage. I don't know if Paris will do the same, but it is very possible. So, once again, if you want to save it your favorite commentators and/or network coverage - record it.

What did I miss that should be right on the first post?

For a ceremonies that is not in the right time zone, yes. I think they showed Beijing live, but only on Peacock. I'm sure someone will jump in if I am wrong. The opening ceremonies for the US and Canadian Olympics were live - maybe Rio too.

I'll never make the early AM start times for anything  . They better not cut any of the broadcasts short I got set to record from TV. :p

I'm pretty much over Peacock showing the same scenes of Paris every 5 minutes especially in the middle of a match or event.

Peacock Problem Fix -

Some people have noticed a female voice describing everything that is going on visually while watching Peacock (I had it during the opening ceremonies). It happens when the settings somehow get set to visually impaired. Go to the small icon on the bottom left of your screen that looks like a small dialogue bubble - make sure the audio is set to English - not English AD.

Rukia put it this way - "It's the descriptive mode for visually impaired viewers. If you go closed caption options there should be an option to switch it to just English with no descriptions (we had to do the same thing)."

The NBC commentators mentioning that Jordan's best chance to make a final is probably floor.

I once again wonder if they're live.
I'm like 80% sure they're not live because it just seems a teeny bit rehearsed, but I could be wrong.

I'm sure they are live at the event, and then they edit for the broadcast. It wouldn't surprise me if they record a number of scenarios and then insert the narrative that fits in post-production.

ETA: They've shown Terry Gannon and Daggett and Joe Rothlesbinger? burger? RothlisgermansoundingAmericanscan'tpronounce at Paris 2024. So I'm sure it's partially live.

That seems way more challenging than just recording in the like 10 hours before prime time.

John Roethlisberger. Now you can just copy and paste if you need to write it again.

To be clear I know they are 100% in Paris. Roethlisberger has been calling the other divisions live with Laurie Hernandez. I just mean I don't think the commentary is taken live at the event (or not all of it). It's just sounds a bit polished/rehearsed to have been reacting in real time (although it's possible it's a combination of the two in that they call it in real time then go back and adjust things to fit in with the narrative they are telling for broadcast).

Shoot, I missed the Americans on beam for the second time today.
I'm sure they will show it again, probably right before the Team Final or event Finals. They will at least repeat Simone's.

The men's 100 in swimming was  I was going for Peaty, but happy for Nicolo! And Nick finally getting his medal! 🇮🇹 🇺🇸 🇬🇧

That is what I also think.

Whoever directed this "special wicked tribute to the US Gymnastics team" should be very fired from ever making any kind of video ever again.

I don't know anything about Hezly's family. Why is her dad creepy?

Creepy is not how I'd describe it.

Henry Rivera, an engineer at a software company, moved his 12-year-old daughter to MG Elite last year so she could train with Haney. He said she had left her previous gym because her routines were getting sloppy and the coach there was pushing her to perform skills she didn’t feel prepared to do.

Rivera said he appreciated that Haney had made the gym a safe space for his daughter, yet never babied her.

“If I wanted her to come home happy and smiling every day, I’d send her to clown school; I’m serious,” Rivera said. “If my daughter has goals and her goal is to be an elite athlete, I need a coach to teach her the right things and safely, and to push them.”

Generally he's been rumored to be a very intense gym dad.

The way NBC keeps saying "lower extremity" to describe Simone's injury is so weird.

It's like they're aliens seeing their first human or like humans have more than one type of lower extremity and we don't know which one she hurt.

That's called a leg. I know they didn't know for sure if it was her calf or her ankle or her knee or whatever, but the general term for that "extremity" humans have attached to the bottom of their torso is "leg."
