With the GP Assignments, time for a new thread! Please offer up title suggestions & whichever idea winds up with the most likes in a week will be the winner.


Ilia Malinin - Skate America & NHK Trophy (questionable as to whether or not he'll compete)
Andrew Torgashev - Skate Canada & Finlandia Trophy
Jacob Sanchez - Grand Prix de France & Cup of China
Jason Brown - Skate America & NHK Trophy
Jimmy Ma - Grand Prix de France
Liam Kapeikis - Skate Canada
Lucius Kazanecki - Cup of China

Skate America - 1 TBD spot

Kazanecki or Martynov are who I think have the edge. Martynov had some good results during the winter, though none of them moved him up the SB list since they weren't Challengers.

That's just a one week turnaround from Cup of China, he'd presumably be jet-lagged and exhausted. Will USFS commit him to that on the hopes that he does well enough in China? Aren't host allocation names due in September before the GP series begins? What are the substitution rules for GP host spots? Is it like JGP where you can name one person and multiple substitutes to swap out? Or is there some sort of lock in?

If the host spot can easily be swapped, then yeah let Liam and Lucius get named, in addition to Daniel, in the somewhat off chance that one of them medals earlier in the series. Barring that, I think it should definitely go to Daniel.

Kazanecki competed senior domestically last year but did the JGP, so I wouldn't read anything into Blackwell competing seniors during a summer comp this year.

Please, please, please let him do a full season healthy. I'm not sure which competitions he is eligible to do given how much time he's been out of competition.
 
Well that's a nice coincidence, that's the second 3A+3T clip from a US man I've seen today.

Jacob Sanchez appears to be very interested in content creation and has opened a YouTube channel and a Twitch livestreaming channel. [Ilia has done this as well]

The 3A+3T clip is in the second session, I guess this will again be in his layout since he said that was what he was practicing.

Slight correction after watching: those were 50 technique drills to change his picking and follow-through on his toe-loop. There were small and only 1 1/2 rotations each by design. Repetitive drills like this are for changing muscle memory as quickly and efficiently as possible.

We hopefully will learn who the Cranberry Cup competitors are in the next few weeks.

Lucas posted a clip of himself doing a quad toe a few weeks ago. Of course, doing a jump or combo in isolation isn't the same as doing it repeatedly or in a program. The real question is whether he will be fit enough to land all the jumps in his programs.

Anyone know where he's training or who is coaching him this coming season? He's already got Stanford listed in his profile and he recently posted a clip of Stanford. (Three posts in a month may be a record for him. :D ) So, I was wondering if he already had moved to California.

Okay but the US men will have decent representation of quads next year: Ilia, Torgashev, Kazanecki, Martynov, Broussard (if he comes back), Ma (*if he wants to keep trying it), Sanchez (*more likely than not he will attempt based on his twitch and youtube content)

What was lost in Naumov and Tomoki for quads will be replaced it looks like

[and then Blackwell and Farrington both have quads in juniors]

It's really only Kapeikis and Jason who are not quad jumpers and that's okay
 
I still like it but then what about Where have all the Gold Men Gone?

(since I dont really think Jason is going to skate)
 
Jacob did a Q&A on his YT channel, and he said Misha Ge choreographed his SP. He confirmed the music had been posted in an IG story and is about the moon lol. So I think we can safely say his SP is Moonlight Sonata.

His FS was choreographed by Adam Blake, and he said fans of Japanese culture and Japanese entertainment will be fans of the music.
