No, I mean jr worlds. The way they only allow 1 skater per event unless your country finishes pretty high, is kind of arbitrary and overly restrictive imo

I sort of think the way spots are allotted based on Junior Worlds finish is insane and its too restrictive, but oh well.

Assuming you mean "Junior Team Cup", that competition plays a large role but it is not the sole deciding factor. They'll do what all of us here do... look at Nats and other results leading up to that competition and ones immediately following it to get an idea of a skater's trajectory. They also see these skaters up close at week-long camps like Champs Camp going on right now and a similar camp held back in May in Colorado.

EDIT: Oops, I misunderstood. I too thought that you were talking about assignment of skaters.

Beck Strommer announced the music for his 2024-2025 FS and the relocation of training place to Southern California (Jonathan Casaar will be his coach).

2024-2025 FS: Violin Concerto No. 2 in C Major by Camille Saint-Saëns
(Choreographed by Nick Buckland, Beck, and Jonathan Cassar)

I finally managed to see both Lucas Broussard's SP and LP from Cranberry and I was deeply, deeply impressed. First off, it looks like he has grown a foot but the new growth has not thrown off his jumps which look stronger than they have ever looked. He still skates with a lot of speed and flair. Moreover, Lucas has really boosted his technical content from last season to this season. His artistic sensibility reminds me strongly of John Curry. I really hope that Lucas gets that Skate America spot. I look forward to seeing his season unfold.

I’m looking forward to seeing the Tarzan costume!

If he keeps the same one that he competed in when "Tarzan" was his FS last year (just one comp) it was... not what I was expecting: as I recall it was kind of a deep yellow top that bled (ombre) into dark "jungle green" pants. :shuffle:

If you can find the 2033 Warsaw Cup thread in archives, I'm sure there's a YouTube link.

Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3ZOT8P1blA&pp=ygUbSmFzb24gQnJvd24gV2Fyc2F3IEN1cCAyMDIz

It’s not as nutso as I expected. I had assumed a George of the Jungle vibe…bare chest and beads, swinging from tree to tree, with yodeling sounds (“was-waa-waa…watch out for that tree!”) This looks normal!

Joonsoo is pretty busy with med school, so I assume this comp was just meant to be a fun summer experience. :)

Joonsoo is aiming at qualifying for the 2025 U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
Good for him! I will cheer for him hard if he comes to Wichita.

I saw Ryedin Rudedenman, now 15, at this year's US Nationals. He has a unique style and reminded me of Jason a bit when Jason won the junior title of the US Nationals. Ryedin just won NQS Skate San Francisco last week.

So he (and 4 other siblings) started skating just 7 years ago? And their oldest sister, Caylin, has become their coach and all of them have been invited to the National Development Team Camp this year. Wow.

Hope that Ryedin will master 3A and achieve his goal!

Loving 14 year old BALLET TRAINED Alexsandr Fegan :encore:

Really enjoyed when Ted said to Mark “He is your kind of skater Mark” as Mark was throwing out the superlatives. I was thinking me too!

He is still small and a bit underpowered. Really excited to watch his growth and progress. Would love to see him get jump coaching from Skornikov/Malinina.

I don't think he has gone through puberty yet. Let's see what a couple of years brings. His movement is really wonderful!

Great Sports Media in China reported in Webo that Jason Brown, Bradie Tennell and Madison Chock and Evan Bates are mentioned for Shanghai Trophy (October 3-5) in China.

Will this be Jason's first international competition this season?

ETA: I changed the wording from "to compete" to "mentioned" since they are "invited" and we might want to see the confirmation as either from the skaters or as the official entry list (especially since Jun-hwan Cha is listed for this and Denis Ten Memorial that will be held at the same time).

I said it before when most people haven't heard of Patrick: this is Patrick's year! The kid is super focused and he's hungry for wins and willing to work hard. Love to see his success here in JGP Ostrava! And if he keeps healthy avoiding bonehead accidents like last year that forced him to miss Eastern Sectionals (and nationals), we'd see more great things from this kid
