Daphne mentioned on This Week in Skating that there will be an interview with Amy Cui/Jonathan Rogers on IDC soon, so I’m so glad to hear there was no truth to the split rumor!

The teams in top 24 got 2 GPs. The next 4 seniors can battle it out for a host spot, along with the Peals, who need to at least get sent to a Challenger this season!

Any new pairings we should keep an eye on? There were some splits in juniors, but I haven't seen any new team announcements.

RE: 2026 - They had a massive mistake in the free dance or otherwise I'm sure they would've been at the very least ahead of the Shibutanis, and probably Neset/Markelov as well. Don't just look at final standings

Dollink, I’m looking at how they skate amidst a lot of competition. She’s not improving, at all.

Could be said about almost all of the team in the US not at the top, including the Browns who were criminally robbed last season. But US Nationals dance politics don't make any sense to me anyways, seeing who they showered with +5s at the top for so long.

Cui and Rogers should be the "ones" but doubt that even happens. With Wolfkostin so close to getting a second event outright, hopefully this team gets a Skate America host spot.

I’d be very happy to see Cui/Rogers get the spot. They’re living proof that 1+1=more than 2 with the right partner.

Wolfkostin is 3rd on the alternates, maybe even 2nd. There's at least one team that should be removed from their events at some point. If it's before the season really gets going and the alternates list doesn't change all that much, they should get a spot via that method.

So the two spots shoud really be between Neset/Markelov, Cui/Rogers, and I guess maybe the Peals or Flores/Jepsen if they really show improvements in the early season.

WolfTsar are 3rd on the Alternates list behind Lajoie/Baker and Harris/Chan. The challenge for them getting a 2nd GP somewhere other than SkAm is that 3 of the 5 remaining GPs already have 3 US dance teams. They need a vacancy at either CoC or NHK in order to pick up a 2nd GP elsewhere.

Looking at the CoC field - I'm sure China will use their TBD spot on one of their own teams who haven't competed internationally yet. They have quite a few dance teams domestically. Same goes with Japan & the NHK field - they have teams to slot into their two TBD spots.

The teams with fewer than 2 events will have to get out there and prove themselves with their new material. Bad news for folks that want to pick the SA teams right now. Good news for the roster at Lake Placid (and/or potentially some other summer events).

There's video here of the Peals skating their RD to Benjamin Clemintine's "Adios." I won't put it in the program music thread until they confirm it's their actual music and not just practice music (although the movements do seem to match it well).
