Provincial police say they have found a third set of human remains at a property near Smiths Falls in eastern Ontario.

They have identified the latest remains as those of Lawrence Bertrim, who was last seen in downtown Smiths Falls in September 2022

Human remains discovered during the demolition of a home in Canada in 2023 have been identified as a woman who disappeared in the 1990s.

Brenda Marie LeBlanc, who was born in 1963, was identified through genetic genealogy in 2025, the Niagara Regional Police Service said in a press statement shared on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

UPDATE: For those that have Netflix, there’s a new docuseries called “Death of the Pastor’s Wife” about what happened with Mica Miller and her relationship with John-Paul.

I highly recommend watching it if you’re interested in how these kind of religious systems can end up going horrifically wrong. Normally, I would about new docuseries in the TV thread, but this is a pretty dark topic.😔 And this case has been discussed earlier in this thread.

Update: The judge has ruled that Robinson can the trial for Tyler Robinson can go forward. Robinson has entered pleas of Not Guilty for all charges. The next court date will be October 23.

I watched this documentary last week. I second the recommendation.

The use of religion to abuse people is sick.

I'm glad he got indicted.

So……anyone else following the Clancy trial in Massachusetts? Apparently, the deadlocked jury has “sent the court a note”. And they held court and the judge instructed each juror one by one. 🤔

I think it’s likey going to end up a hung jury.

What a horrific story. Those poor children. 😔

A sad story for everyone involved especially the children........😢

I have personally known of 2 cases of post partum depression. IN one case, the mother drowned her 2 children in a bath while her husband was golfing - she eventually killed herself by jumping off a building. She was a professional, very well -educated and very nice person before the PPD.

The second case was a physician who came down with PPD after a second child, Her husband and family really went to great lengths to help her and eventually after a few years, she was much better...............but she was off work for at least 3-4 years.
