Possibly because Sender's old age is so very apparent that there is no need to comment on it.

He looks "old", he moves around "old" and when he sticks out his finger to make a point, he is stooped over, highlighting his old age.
I think he has always had that posture - bending, particularly when he wants to make a point.

Yes, but not specifically Bernie.
You are wrong. I've been very vocal about no more old white guys which include Bernie and Joe.

If either become the candidate, I'll have to vote for them, but it will make me nauseous to think I have no choice. Unlike the 2016 and people refusing to vote for a Democrat candidate they didn't care for. It's part of the reason we have Trump.

But really no more old white guys.

I was not talking about fsu posters. I was talking about the TV networks.

I am watching the discussion about Biden’s potential entry into the Dem field. In a way I like it. Whether he wins or not. His experience is valuable at This time but not forever.

On a very shallow note, I can’t stand Neera Tanden’s voice.

I was going to write something but I see you are tired of old white guys, so I changed my mind since I am one. I know when I'm not welcome, too bad it's because of my race and age.

I am not against old white guys but I am against Bernie due to his approach and his selfishness. I am not sold on Biden but I respect his experience. I do believe he can repair our foreign relations faster than anyone else.

Once again, for This election, it is not about what will be done After the GE but rather who can defeat Donald Trump. I think Biden can, and may be a few others, but that has yet to be seen. So I am keeping my mind open for all but Sanders and it is not because he is the oldest.

I just closed my mind about Warren because of her announcement today to break up a Google, Amazon, Facebook, and control them. This is outrageous and I am not sure that She believes in that approach. I am wondering if she borrowed a page from Trump’s playbook and said the most controversial thing, in order to get the MSM focus on her? It worked for Trump. I don’t want another Trump in the WH In 2021.

I was already against her. She blew her ancestry thing, for no reason. Her announcement today was the last straw for me.

I'm married to an old white man, I just don't think old white men are what the country needs in leaders.

Throughout our history we've been ruled by old white men, with the exception of Obama. We need new blood

Turning to young white men, we went to a Pete Buttigieg event tonight up in New Hampshire. His campaign had billed it as a “Meet & Greet” event at a restaurant there. I was honestly expecting maybe 25 people and a quiet conversation. Instead we showed up and there were at least 200 people there! I’d say a predominance of late-20s, 30s.

I liked his speech. He is a more forceful speaker than I had expected. He talked about climate change, possible changes to the Supreme Court, Medicare for All, teachers’ pay. He mentioned how Republicans keep trying to own the ideas of freedom and security, but how Democrats can talk about those same ideas and say, “You know, when we have single-payer healthcare, then people will actually have more freedom to open a small business or change jobs, because they won’t have to worry so much about how to pay their own or their employees’ insurance.” More economic security = more freedom. My favorite part of his speech was the ending: “We are not just trying to win one election here. We want to win an era.”

Lots of enthusiasm from the crowd! It was a reminder to me of the huge energy on our side that went into the midterms. It’s still there!

For those interested in seeing him in the Democratic debates, he needs more donors. He said you can go to his web page and donate as little as $3. For the debates, what counts isn’t how much money he collects, but the number of people who donate.

I'm waiting for someone to declare and hit that spot where you just know they are your candidate. Until then, I'll wait until next year when the primaries are coming around to even think about it.

OMG you nailed it with 'self-centered' - never thought of Bernie in terms of that one word before, but it totally fits. He fashions himself some socialist hero of the people, forgetting that heroes are made and not born.

I am not sold on Biden but I respect his experience. I do believe he can repair our foreign relations faster than anyone else.
I vastly prefer Biden to Bernie, but even so - the U.S needs young, fresh candidates.

I am honestly much more interested in the younger and lesser known candidates.
My only interest is in those who can beat Trump. We can take a look at the unknowns for the future. This is a critical time for us in the USA. I cannot handle 4 more years of Trump. I don’t believe the world can either.

Someone I'm friends with on Facebook posted that Beto O'Rourke is definitely running for President and there'll be an announcement next week.

Meanwhile I guess he went to Austin this weekend for a political conference there and a showing of a new film about his 2018 Senate campaign. There are a couple stories about it today in Politico and the Post (click for links). The stories aren't particularly flattering and I have to admit I'm not enthused about him running.

There is something about O'Rourke that just feels a bit immature to me. And I guess the documentary portrays him yelling at his staff and taking his stress out on them during the 2018 Senate campaign. If I have a problem with Klobuchar doing this (and I do), then I can't exactly overlook it when it comes to Beto. Now granted, we don't know if his staff abuse is as long-running and well-established as Klobuchar's--maybe it was just a passing thing under the heat of the Senate campaign. Still, it definitely gives me pause.

When I see this, I blame Bernie Sanders & colleagues. They needed to create & reference a new brand name for their definitive vision. It's now mixed up in the media every day so it's no wonder that people short cut the references, both accidentally & purposefully, from time to time. It's their own fault it happens so much since they choose to just continue on with terminology that results in constant sound bite confusion. They could easily reinvent a new label more fitting for today's times & fast media constraints.
I am not sure show they or DSA would do that. Semantics are tricky. It's like the word liberal is synonymous with democrats.

BUT maybe It could addressed in the debates in June.
Not sure why the Sanders crew hasn't gone for "social democracy" as a label? Isn't that what the European countries tend to call themselves? Although I suppose that label could also be shortened/misinterpreted as "socialist."

Germany is a social market economy. Not that anyone knows that. I looked it up on Google a little while ago ;) For many of the other countries, I couldn't find a name for their economic system.

For some amusement: Nunes thinks that restaurants asking if you want a straw is socialism. Sometimes the stupid just hurts! https://twitter.com/DevinNunes/status/1104581433618661376

I'd be fully prepared to overlook those things on Warren's part, if she could defeat Trump. I agree with you that this is the most important thing and don't think Warren can do it.
