An 83 year old man Gerald Guinn from Utah, who went
Hiking into the Grand Canyon was missing for 4 and a half days. Search parties found him in good spirits.He was treated by paramedics and released.

It’s a great story but I couldn’t find the link to forward it. If I do, I will post it.

First of all, hiking into the Grand Canyon is no picnic, particularly in summer. It is much hotter in the canyon than on the rim. He was hiking with another hiker. At one point they split up to find something. When he didn’t return, his hiking partner called for help. Local search and rescue, the NPS came to the rescue. They used a cell phone ping (what is that?) to find the area where he was. Helicopter could not land there. He was healthy enough to wave. A team of paramedics was sent to bring him. They had to remove logs from their way. The man was dehydrated and cold. They treated him with water and blanket and helped him out. He was treated there and he walked away.

I hope I will be as healthy as him when I am 83.
