It’s interesting to me that Lopareva goes up against the Brits in one competition and Zing/Kol at the other. To me these three teams are the top contenders (after the Usurpers, of course) now that LaLa has split, but I’m making no bets at all on the outcomes.

And yeah I know the Litvaks are still around and who know where Smart/Dieck and CarPon will end up….

I think FearGib and ReedAmbru may tumble in the standings this cycle - falling to LopBri, ZingKol & CarPon. SmaDie are a bit of a question mark because they have many of same characteristics as FearGib & ReedAmbru which could make them vulnerable to falling in the rankings should the IDTC go in a more technical direction rather than continuing in the choreo elements/vibes direction it's gone in during the past two cycles. DavSmo are the dark horses of the field for this coming cycle.

I think the Taschlers have also dropped? And the Finns, but their injury absence obviously hurt their train in g time last year.

The other wild card this cycle other than no one knowing where LaBak (and possibly LimLag) end up, is if the Russians return. I remember Kaganovskaya as very talented with her previous crazy partner, and the one dance I saw with Nekrosov was very good.

Since FB/C appear to be continuing through the whole quad (I thought they might take a year or two off and then come back), I don't see L/B passing F/G as France #2. We may see different teams excelling in the pattern that excelled in the past quad's version of the RD, but one element in one part of the competition probably isn't going to shake up the standings that much.

If F/G start making significant errors at each comp, then yes, they'll drop but that goes for any team.

I think for Fear/Gibson a lot could depend on their programme choices. I really liked the Scottish FD and thought it was the right direction for them to go to continuing progressing over the next quad. But, obviously, they struggled to deliver it cleanly under pressure. Hopefully they're able to take something from that rough experience and continue drilling their execution rather than running back to their pop diva FD wheelhouse, which was getting a bit stale

British skating behind F/G is looking a lot more uncertain than it did eighteen months or a year ago so the focus will be even more on then. :shuffle:

Meanwhile, Lilah and Lewis have both made a number of Taylor Swift-related posts, and they worked in some capacity with one of her more famous tour dancers recently...

Should I be worrying about Bekker/Hernandez?

Lord I hope it's for the RD. Another pop diva music choice for a FD? I agree with the post above that the Scottish FD was a refreshing change in the right direction.
I think the pressure just got to Lilah.
They knew if they skated clean they'd likely had of taken the bronze.
Anyway I'm not as much of a detractor of this team as some. But I am a bit bored with their style. Just like I am with Cizeron.

I also really think the Scottish free dance was a step in the right direction. It’s something upbeat and fun, but doesn’t have the same feel as Vogue or disco. I definitely think there’s more to explore there without them going in a direction that doesn’t suit them.

Like I definitely do not think them doing lyrical snot in order to be versatile is a good idea.

It also got to Lewis, who had a pretty significant error at Euros.

I really don't like this narrative of blaming Lilah when Lewis has had issues of his own, though not usually as obvious as hers.

The song they've been playing around with on their IG posts is "Fate of Ophelia".
While I do actually think skating to Taylor Swift is pretty smart, my manager is a huge Swiftie and I definitely think she'd watch any figure skating program I send her if it involves a Taylor Swift song, I would very much like to never hear Fate of Ophelia again. It plays too often over the PA at work and while it is the only song I've heard from that album that I actually kind of like I am so tired of hearing it.

I didn't watch Euros so thanks for the correction.
