Shintaro Kano's latest Olympics.com article after Shoma Uno and Marin Honda held their first public practice yesterday (July 14) in Tokyo, overseen by Misato Komatsubara, and spoke to the media (one article said there were 65 members of the press and about 20 TV cameras!): https://www.olympics.com/en/news/shoma-uno-ice-dance-coach-stephane-lambiel-honda-marin-2026-27

I posted article & photo links in the Japanese news thread in GSD yesterday. They confirmed The Four Seasons is their FD music and that the choreography by Jean-Luc Baker was completed this past December. Their RD to Poeta was choreographed by Kenji Miyamoto and is scheduled to premiere at an ice show at the end of this month (which one?).

Qualifying competition for ice dance will be held together with Eastern Japan Figure Skating Championships (Sectionals) from Oct 29 to Nov 1 this year in Gunma. I guess Stephane will be there.

Per Pierre Loup Bouquet's Instagram, Vlastimil Mrázek's new partner is Arina Bessonova.
Bessonova is a Pierre Loup's student in Meudon/Français Volants. Given the amazing development job Pierre Loup has been doing over the years, I hope they stay with him. I suppose they'll represent CZE but we'll see.

I'm sure this information is on this forum or thread somewhere, but I just wanted to check/confirm that the ice dance teams were sent a V/M video of the golden waltz as the example to follow?
Jean Luc mentioned it his interview with Jackie.
Side note, never heard him talk really much before and he seems super cool. I definitely think his partnership with Marjorie suits their personalities.

I think a lot of skaters were taking it as the definitive version as well. cpom and zingas/kolesnik were watching it together at the Olympics after they heard golden waltz was the pattern.

what?! omg! all of the politics aside for just a moment-- this makes me so happy to hear. especially about p/t's daughter and irina's daughter. i've had such soft spots for these 3 athletes from my early fandom
