The Amazing Race S39

The 2nd episode airs tonight after Big Brother and it will move back to the Wednesday time slot next week. Episode 1 is available on Paramount+.

Not sure I am liking the 'everyone gets an Express Pass' but, well 3 are gone already plus an elimination so that's 4 gone.

Ugh, memory challenges like the flags would do me in. But my fat butt woulda tipped that paddle boat over so fast I would be gone with either one.

Don't really have any favorites yet or anyone I don't like. The Siblings were funny though.

The latest season of TAR Canada gave every team an express pass at the start. Most panicked and used it too early, IMO, but it was interesting to watch some teams strategize.

I thought it was interesting they started in Canada. On purpose politically? If so, I love it.
Plus Vancouver is beautiful. I have been there once - in 2001 for Worlds and loved the sea and the mountains and big city.

So the tomatoes thing was gross!

I figured Team Gray was done with wandering around right past the place they needed to go, but Team Pink swoops in and goes to the wrong city.

That history task, if you told me what you are famous for I still would not know your name. I'm gonna go look up melting clocks now. :P

Madison Chock is the only reason I know about Dali and the melting clocks 😄

Loved seeing the botanical gardens in Vancouver! My friend and I went there to see the Christmas lights during 2018 GPF.

I’m not a fan of Erin, the wife in the couple who used the first express pass.

Oddly, I knew most of the answers to the history task; I don't know why. There were only a few I missed. Dali and Picasso were the most obvious ones to me, but I did take an art history class in college.

The jumping off a beam to catch a salmon with bear hands would have eliminated me immediately. I am so terrified of heights I wouldn't have been able to get on the beam, never mind jump off of it.

That history challenge was hard to watch. Also, I know from personal experience it is very hard to slice jamon serrano or Iberico! I was so worried the first team would get rejected for thickness.

And agreed about Erin. I hope when she sees this she realizes how she sounds.

Erin is bossy bossy bossy and did you notice she has no backpack so her poor husband is carrying all their stuff - never seen that choice before!

Finally! A Road Block that I can easily accomplish ..... breaking things!!:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I wish would they would put up the times every time a Team checks in at the mat so we can see how close they are together on each leg. Even if there is a equalizer immediately after like all on the same plane, I want to know how close they are within each leg when they check in. Were they all within 10 minutes or several hours apart ... stuff like that. Sometimes they do that when they leave the next leg, but sometimes they don't. Even though there were several groups at same time, how far apart where they?

:cheer2: for all the :cat:s!! :P

Team Purple ..... OMG if that is what he has to deal with every day of his life!

That fruit task would have been the end of me. I have no patience for things like that.

To Be Continued???? I HATE that!!!!!

I wondered if it was a keep racing with that awful fruit task at the end but now we will have to wait til next week.

I really hope Erin is just getting a bad edit otherwise I feel really sorry for him!

I've seen that many times, especially when teams are running between stops.

This does not make Erin easier to take
The father/daughter team started off ok, but the daughter is annoying the hell out of me with her nasty behaviour towards her father. The constant yelling at him to focus and hurry up was ridiculous.
Erin, the daughter, and the blonde wife were so annoying on the first episode that I was tempted to skip this season. This one wasn't quite as bad.

Erin's husband seems like laidback guy who finds her intensity more amusing than irritating, which is probably why they are still married.

I am boggled at everyone surrendering their express passes so early. If they think the challenges are hard now, what do they think they will be like later?

Anyone still got the episode on their DVR they can freeze frame? I've seen comments online that Team Blue actually did find a clue at the Pottery when there were still a few teams left but that she tossed it because she thought it said 'Try Again', but it was really a real clue and that the camera zoomed in on the discarded envelope? I don't have it on my DVR anymore. Did I miss that or are those comments wrong?

That's what I thought while watching it. The camera zoomed in several times, if I remember correctly. I've already deleted it from the DVR.
