I read MSG - indoors was chosen - don't have to worry about helicopters overhead.

Makes a lot of sense. It also makes sense that if they want to create a really special/unique environment, choosing a venue that can already handle complicated staging, lighting, sound, rigging and all that is smart. One theory is that they are creating an elaborate indoor garden - perhaps inspired by the setting where he proposed.
It also sounds like there will be several performers, so MSG can certainly accommodate that too - the place is already hard wired for all of that.
Doesn't seem particularly secure given the multitude of entrances and cavernous spaces beyond the arena itself, but then again, a venue like that can crowd control efficiently, so likely easy enough to have a secure route through the building. Plenty of bathrooms too
Blocking off the streets might at first blush sound like an annoying inconvenience, but this is New York, where roads are regularly closed for parades and other events, and New Yorkers just carry on. Might actually be a safety issue, assuming there might be a gathering of fans, this gives them a safe place, where who knows, they might also enjoy some big screens for the performances. She does love her fans.
Maybe we'll even get a red carpet out of it. Goodness knows I'd rather follow this all next weekend than whatever's going on in Washington.
