TPE skating federation website: http://ctsu.com.tw/

Announcement (in Chinese): https://tinyurl.com/y4paltcb

Schedule & starting orders for TPE Nationals as of July 24, 2020: https://tinyurl.com/yxpyajts

Only one Senior man listed in the SP starting order - Che Yu YEH (age 19): http://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00103551.htm

There is no Senior ladies event this year (most likely due to overseas travel and quarantine restrictions).

Junior Ladies SP starting order includes Tzu-Han (Anna) TING (age 14 who placed 17th in her 2020 Junior Worlds debut): http://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00108222.htm

Also listed in Junior Ladies SP starting order (6 total) is Avril Phillips, who is based in USA (placed 7th in the Novice Ladies final round at SW Regionals last October). She registered for the TPE Junior Ladies event last year but didn't end up competing.

I believe a live stream is planned... will post a link if/when I can find it. ETA that it will be broadcast live on ELTA channel 1 according to this tweet: https://twitter.com/taipeifollowers/status/1286663836817227778

One of the 6 junior ladies listed for Nationals is Yan Yi LIN - here is her Junior SP performance to Miss Saigon at the first domestic competition of the season in the Taipei Arena on July 11:

Yu Hsiang LI (one of 4 Junior men listed for Nationals) FS from the same competition:

Both were from a local competition for Taipei city. Usually the competition would be held in late Apr, but it was on held and delayed until Jul 11-12. The competition was actually open to public (and there wasn't any major problem other than that viewers were required to leave their names for safety precautions). So the CT Nationals in the up-coming weekend should be held in similar fashion.

It's also a good idea to have a live streaming for the competition. It's not quite for sure that they will broadcast for the whole competition throughout the day. I think in some earlier announcement it said the broadcast will be only for ISU Jr and Sr skating groups. I'm not sure if the ELTA TV link will be blocked oversea either. Also, usually the CT Nationals will invite some 'special guests' from overseas (usually Japan). But that's less likely to happen for this year, I think.

Thank you for finding those fan cams, @cohkaix! :) Sounds like Anna kept both her programs from last season (ISU Junior international debut):
SP: Corpse Bride by Danny Elfman
FS: Finding Neverland by Jan A.P. Kaczmarek
Choreographer: Joey Russell

No problem! I think last season Tzu-Han (Anna) was injured after her 1st JGP competition and had to WD from her 2nd JGP. From the video of the competition in Jul, she seemed to be recovering ok. Note that she's probably the first locally-trained ladies' skater to go on to JGP (but her coach took her to train in Tokyo and Canada during the breaks as well).

Here's a fan-cam to Tzu-Han's SP: https://youtu.be/QtTWZCIDG54

The post interview for Tzu-Han and Chih-I (in Chinese, by ELTA TV sport news): https://youtu.be/mAfMJOlQVSI

Translation (roughly):
Tzu-Han: She thinks it's not bad that the performance reached a certain level, but would like to skate better. Her goal is to nail 3A and quad jumps.
Chih-I: Due to the pandemic C**19, he thought that most competitions of the season could be delayed or cancelled. So that was the turning point for him to concentrate on coaching some more (He was with more than 1 student from the competition yesterday). Another reason is to get some rest for old injuries. In the interview he also said that he thinks skating is getting popularity locally. Kids don't just come to skate for fun but start to skate and train regularly, so the levels and scores have been elevating.

Day 2 competition (FS for Adv Nv ladies, Jr ladies, Jr men and Sr men)

Adding some trivia I got from the Chinese commentator:
  • There will be a gala performance after today's competition.
  • For the judge panel of this competition, there are technical specialists/judge from oversea to help with the judging via online streaming (!)
  • The only competitor from oversea, Avril, had to pass a 14-day quarantine for taking part in this competition.

Junior Men 1-4:
Yu-Hsiang LI 155.28 1 1 (102.09 FS) - really impressive, clean skate! :) BUT he repeated 2 triples, I think. Jumps: 3Lo, 3F+3T, 3F+3T, 3Lz, 3Lz*+1Eu+3S, back catch foot Y spiral to 3S*, 2A. Nice flow out on his jumps, good spins, high quality skater! Music sounded familiar to me - a somber orchestral piece with a female vocal (wordless) section.
Guan-Ting ZHOU 118.48 2 2 (84.88 FS) - 3F fell out/hands down, 3S+2T, 2A+2T, 3S hop/turn out, 2A off balance, 2Lz+1Eu+2F, 2F - Matrix OST in Joubert-like costume.
Yu-Chun HUANG 104.48 4 3 (76.88 FS)
Xin-Wu CHEN 96.41 3 4 (66.31 FS)

Senior Men (1)
Che-Yu YEH 143.67 1 1 (90.23 FS) - jumps: 3Lo fell out/hand, 3T+2T, 3S+2T, 3T, 3S fall, 2A+1Eu+2F shaky, 2A fall. Music was "Cry Me A River" by Michael Bublé.
