Stars on Ice Spring 2026 Tour - U.S. and Canada

Here at Hershey, show starts in an hour. Came early for the Stargazer time. It was very controlled and I did not see anyone trying to sneak backstage. All the skaters practiced except Ilia (unless he left the ice before i got in, arena didn't start letting people in until almost 4 even though arrival time was listed as 3:30, grrr). The ice dance teams all did a rotational lift in unison. Christina and Emilea were wearing identical "New York" t-shirts. :)

K/O did the Q&A....Ellie mentioned that this season was challenging due to Danny's foot surgeries in the off-season and also said that she got "the worst concussion of my life" right after Danny got back on the ice....yikes. I don't think i knew that...I hope she is OK.

PSA: If your kid can't sit still for more than 10 min, SOI, or at least the Stargazer portion, might not be the right place for them.

While getting my meet & greet pass, there was another guy at Guest Services complaining about obstructed view seats. I've seen other comments online about fans in other cities having similar issues. And this show is sold out, so I don't know where else that guy can go. :(

ETA: Per IG, it looks like Ilia was having a reunion with his cats during practice time. :)
I heartily second the suggestion about not bringing younger, easily distractable kids to the Stargazer portion! I went last year and was surrounded by sugar-fueled 8 and 9 year olds constantly running in and out of the (mid-row) seats. A gentleman in the row in front of mine was harassed by a hyperactive child who could.not.stop kicking his seat even when he asked her twice to stop. I'm hoping for a better experience this year when the tour arrives in my city!

Got home about an hour ago. I'm exhausted. Please, SOI, have a show in Baltimore or DC next year. Aside from the long drive, made worse by roadwork everywhere (my first year going to Hershey for SOI was 2014 and I swear they are still working on the same roads), I hate that venue with the heat of a thousand suns. They were pulling people out of line to measure bags if they thought their bag was too big (limit is 5x8x1, mine somehow escaped detection, it's 5x8x2), but oddly, didn't look in any of the regulation-size bags, just the standard metal detectors. I had food in my jacket pocket...in hindsight, I could have put it in my bag, except there was no room. Anyway, on to the show...

Best SOI in a long time, I loved the group numbers, the individual numbers were all amazing, not a weak spot in the bunch. At the meet & greet, a couple skaters asked me what my favorite parts of the show were, and I was like, everything?! Too Darn Hot was my favorite of the group numbers. It felt like the kind of group number SOI did in its glory days in the 90s. Obviously, these skaters don't have the same amount of prep time, just a few days during/after Japan SOI, but the choreo was well designed, fun, brought out the skaters' personalities and showed off their skating skills. The 'Blade Angels' Golden number was probably my 2nd favorite....choreo is looking comfortable and solid now.

Including the skaters' competitive programs was a nice touch, the tribute to the gold medal team was cute. Each skater got to say something or introduce another skater for the mini-performances. Amber said that while they were waiting for the final skater (Sato) marks, her teammates told her no matter what happened, she would always be a champion in their eyes. :)

Crowd was very enthusiastic. Biggest applause was for Alysa and Ilia, C/B and Amber also got a great reception, really, everyone did. The skaters were very appreciative of the support at the M&G.

I noticed they did not have any advance order forms for next year's show taped to the seats, like they have in the past (I haven't been to SOI for a couple years, maybe they stopped doing that?) which made me wonder if they are planning a tour next year. I hope so, I think all the new fans seeing the show this year would like to see more.

Sounds like the Toronto show scheduled for Friday night is getting bumped to Saturday because an NBA playoff game got scheduled Friday night.

And because of this Hamilton that was scheduled for Saturday night has to be moved as well. This sounds like a tremendous cluster**** to have to move two shows.
I wonder why they didn't just move the Toronto show instead of moving both? I could see moving both if it meant they could keep them back to back because of the close proximity, but they are over a week apart now.

@Debbie S I think the pre-order form taped to the seat was a Champions on Ice thing, or at least I haven’t seen it since COI.
No, SOI always did that too. Back in the 90s when the shows would sell out, we would fill out the advance order form for each at the show and mail it on the way home. The year SOI didn't tape the flyers (2008) was how we knew they weren't coming back the following year. :(

My last SOI in Hershey was 2022 and I thought there were forms, but we stopped doing the advance order in the mid-00s when it was clear we could still get great seats in the public sale. In 2023, they had a Baltimore show but no forms, but they didn't do a U.S. SOI in 2024.

I'm guessing that with Toronto if the Raptors continue along in the playoffs rescheduling for later in May could be difficult. They knew for sure that Scotiabank Centre was available Saturday, May 2 (I was there!) but might not know for sure which later dates wouldn't have games scheduled.

a friend is taking her kids to the show tonight, it's at least an hour away and they have never seen live skating before. it's interesting how many new fans there are.

Off topic but I’ve also seen a lot of new fans on Reddit, Twitter, etc. People talking about going to their first show or competition or asking where they can get news and info about skating. Love to see it!! 💕

I think it’s been a while since any SOI tour in North America has the “good” show lighting with a full set of overhead lights mounted on the ceiling. The USA tour has it this year and it does up the overall quality and look of the show.

They aren’t using this Canada and are just making do with the lights on the side of the ice. It’s still mostly fine, but seeing the clips in the USA did make me realize how much better it looks when there is a full lighting grid. I did hear from a couple of friends that they felt it was a little bit dark and hard to see the skaters sometimes if you were sitting any distance away in the arena. Still better than nothing though. Anyone else live through the 2009 Canadian tour when they cut the lighting budget entirely and they skated in a fully bright arena :scream: .

I'm guessing the Toronto show might have more ticket sales, and moving a show in downtown Toronto from a weekend night (Fri/Sat) to a Tuesday would likely cause for more potential refunds/attendance conflicts, vs forcing the same onto the Hamilton show.

The show in Greensboro was amazing & turn out was so much better than in 2022. There were lots of people in the highest part of the arena, which was about 85% full. People were cheering for everyone, and we gave lots of standing ovations. Jason Brown had the most cheers as his professional, polished performances were top notch. It was impressive how he skated around with a chair too. He really gave it his all. Isabeau seemed off- she did a couple of single axels and doubled a jump. The group numbers & little group talks, where different skaters took the microphone, all gave the show an engaging feel of camaraderie. I loved all the performances and despite thinking we'd leave early, decided to stay until the very end. I hope SOI returns next year!

There are some posts on Instagram showing Danny OShea taking out Ellie Kam as he tries the “through her legs” slide. Did he do it twice?

He was totally off on his trajectory and she fell on top of him, then he yanked her up pretty hard. Ouch!

One report said that they didn’t finish the show.

I read that Danny cut his head and bled some. They skipped a group number. And maybe he dropped her in her second number? lol that report was second-hand, but him knocking her down again and getting cut was from someone there.

They had a similar crash on that slide-through move in Hershey, but they appeared to be OK and looked fine for the rest of the show. At the M&G, Ellie said she was fine, nothing cut. :X3: that it happened again.

Went to the Toronto show and can honestly say it was one of the best in years! Saw Alyssa Czisny and let her know how much we enjoyed hers and Kurt's choreography!
Carol Lane was in the audience as were many other notable skaters and coaches (saw Tracey Wainman trying to navigate downtown Toronto after leaving the show:) ).
Kaetlyn Osmond looked better than she has in years - more determined jumps, reaching the top of the rafters with her presentation!
And Roman landed a QUAD!
Piper and Paul I think enjoyed the loudest ovations and did get a full house standing ovation after being presented with their Milan medals by Kaetlyn following a brief rendition of Vincent.
It was over way too quickly which is the sign of a great show!

The lighting definitely seemed dark at the Toronto show. It looked to me that the lighting almost caused Stephen Gogolev to trip at one point in his program.

Following up on my earlier thought about whether there would be a tour next year....I got a survey email from SOI and those who responded are entered for a chance to win tix to the 2027 tour. So there will be a tour next year! (And in the comments, I asked if they could have a show in Baltimore or DC....I mean, DC is Ilia's hometown, sorta..... :))

FWIW, Zingas/Kolesnik seem to have been added to three additional shows (after a gap after St. Louis), per SOI site?
(Last three shows of the tour.)

They now are listed for:

May 7, 2026 at 7:00 PM

SAINT LOUIS, MO

May 29, 2026 at 7:00 PM

ALLEN, TX

May 30, 2026 at 7:00 PM

Plus ... Jacob Sanchez apparently added to two different shows:
May 23 in Seattle; May 24 in Portland

😪 I was hoping they'd be added to Chicago. It's sold out... and ITA about a DC or Baltimore show! I'd love to go to either city for a SOI mini-vacation.

I saw at least ten SOI shows that season. The Florida shows were a fun road trip with Gerry (Milanessa :wuzrobbed ). From looking at my review notes, Sarah skated to Eva Cassidy's "Over The Rainbow" and Tamyra Gray's "Raindrops Will Fall." :p
That was the year we did COI in DC and SOI in Baltimore the next night! Or was it the other way around? 🤣🤣🤣

ETA: The Chicago show was sold out and packed to the rafters, with a very loud enthusiastic crowd. Ilia and Alyssa got the loudest reactions.
A few things that struck me...Torgy and his blazing footwork got a lot of applause, and he REALLY plays to the crowd, too! Ilia seems to be enjoying the applause, and it's fun that he "stays in character" all the way off the ice in his solo. The girls' group numbers seem better synchronized than the guys. And Ilia did 4 backflips in a row.
I was happy to see that Danny didn't do that stupid slide move. Just the same, the lady next to me made a comment that she didn't like the way he throws her around...I guess she'd never SEEN pairs any closer than her TV.
