I don’t have the sci-fi station so I am unable to watch Picard. :(

It's actually CBS All Access, not just a Sci-Fi channel

And, GREGORY, apparently you have never heard of the concept of spoilers or the function this board has for spoiler tags to hide such information in posts.

ETA: Thanks, mods, for changing the thread title.

Also, not by Jean-Luc, but twice, a different character has used the F word (and it's not Ferengi) ! Not your Grandma's Star Trek!

So, what do folks think of this first season, and how it ended?

I found myself unmoved by Picard’s, transition, knowing the series had already been renewed. Data’s affected me far more.

I do tend to hate when they kill people and then bring them back.

But I was okay with it this time because it was fun to see Picard take off with his motley crew like he was some old man version of Star Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy.

In case it wasn't clear, you can get CBS All Access for one month for free right now. We're watching everything we can before the month is up.

I think since the show had already been renewed, it was clear Picard was still going to be around. Really, the writing quality dropped off by about 2 or 3 episodes from the end, I thought. It all became predictable. Except the part about Data.

I didn’t get the Guardians of the Galaxy vibe at the time, but I totally agree!

I got 5 weeks free access and it runs out next weekend. There aren’t any other All Access shows I want to see right now, so I’ll cancel and then reactivate later to see The Good Fight and Discovery.

I wasn't sure it has been renewed and was okay with Picard dying. :D

I agree about it getting predictable but I'm not sure was near the end. There was a lot of predictable stuff once we got introduced to the characters. But I wasn't really watching to be surprised. It was more about enjoying the characters.

Yes, it was renewed right away.

The predictable part of it for me was that it was like a rehashing of Data vs. Lore. But I enjoyed the characters, too, and especially Data’s scenes at the end.
