I think all sports are sort of screwed a bit in terms of "fairness" everywhere in the world in one way or the other.
^^^ Ding. Ding. Ding. Exactly.

The athletes want to do at least something instead of waiting for everything to be super fair. But also, sports have never actually been super-fair. It was just more subtle before.

Our good friends's son works for the KC Chiefs organization in PR/Media department. They are not allowed to travel with the team, trying to keep the bubble as small as possible. Our friends aren't able to see him - again to keep bubble as small as possible

He usually sits in the press box, but as i understood her to say, the press isn't tested as often or with the higher quality of testing as the team and organization. (He did get a super bowl championship ring :) )

Maybe its just the beginning of the season and what not, but the sports games I see, the athletes seem more "friendly" to each other (helping up on the field, etc). Maybe they get they are all risking C-19, to play the game?

Are you talking about in the US? Or a particular part of the country? Or some other country?

The Titans/Steelers game, scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed, possibly all the way to Monday.

The postponement follows positive *********-19 tests among the Titans from four players -- including starting nose tackle DaQuan Jones, long-snapper Beau Brinkley and practice squad tight end Tommy Hudson -- and five team personnel members this week.

For those of you keeping score at home, yesterday it was 3 players.

Speaking of numbers, Peaches LaTour reported on Friday that nine members of the Notre Dame team had tested positive. As of Monday, the number was 18.

(CNN)Team doctors have traced an outbreak of *********-19 on the Notre Dame football team to two specific events, including a pregame meal, head coach Brian Kelly said Tuesday.

The University of Notre Dame announced Monday that 18 players had tested positive for the *****. Kelly told ESPN the team doctors are the ones who traced the infection to their game against South Florida 10 days ago.

Ahead of the September 19 blowout win, the team congregated for a pregame meal, and during the game, one player was treated for dehydration after throwing up on the sideline. That player later tested positive for ********, according to Kelly.

The Tennessee Titans now have 14 members of the team and staff who have tested positive. Their game against the Steelers, originally scheduled for Sunday, is now scheduled for late in October.

The bus driver that drove the Titans has tested positive. He also drove the Houston Astros.

A bus driver who drove both the Tennessee Titans and Houston Astros while the teams were in Minnesota recently has tested positive for *********-19, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero is reporting.

The driver drove the Titans last weekend for their Week 3 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings, then just days later drove the Astros for their playoff series with the Minnesota Twins.

A second New England Patriots player has tested positive.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore has tested positive for *********-19, he confirmed on social media Wednesday.

In a tweet, Gilmore said he is asymptomatic, urged people to take the ******** seriously and thanked those who have reached out.

Two tennis tournaments (men's and women's) scheduled for play in New Zealand in January have been canceled.

WELLINGTON, New Zealand -- The ATP and WTA tournaments set for Auckland in January have been canceled because of uncertainty caused by the ******** *********.

ASB Classic tournament director Karl Budge announced the decision Tuesday, saying work on hosting the tennis tournaments had been well advanced but logistical and safety issues had taken precedence.

Portugal and Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo has tested positive for the ********, the Portuguese football federation announced on Tuesday.
Portugal confirmed in a statement that Ronaldo is in isolation and not showing symptoms. He was later seen monitoring the team's training session from a terrace of the bedroom in which he is staying in Portugal's City of Football headquarters.
The statement added that following Ronaldo's test, the remaining players in the Portugal squad underwent new tests on Tuesday, which came back negative.
Portugal will be without Ronaldo when they host Sweden on Wednesday in a UEFA Nations League game.

Yahoo Sports columnist Doug McIntyre:
The return of sports has been a welcome distraction for so many people in so many ways during this terrible year in all of our lives. But the Ronaldo news should serve as a reality check, a stark reminder that another wave of pain is heading steadily toward us, if it’s not here already.
The Netherlands ordered a partial lockdown on Tuesday. Spain had already imposed one on Madrid. Italy has temporarily banned amateur soccer. In England, a leading politician is calling for implementing the most restrictive measures since the spring, a plan that apparently would shut down the Prem and lower leagues for at least a couple weeks. Russia reported its highest number of *********-related deaths on Tuesday. French officials are preparing for a surge in hospitalizations in Paris. The list goes on.
We’re not quite out of this as a society. Not yet. And we’re finding out that sports, as much as we want them to be, sadly aren’t immune.

One team has withdrawn from the cycling Tour of Italy due to a number of positive tests among the team and staff. A few other riders have withdrawn after testing positive.(Although one of the riders who withdrew retested negative the next day) The race is continuing, but there is a vague sense of "who knows what will happen" at the race. This also highlights what a remarkable success the Tour of France was and what an accomplishment it was to pull that off this year.

The NFL has canceled the Pro Bowl for the first time since 1949.

The NFL has canceled the Pro Bowl as it focuses on completing its full regular season and postseason amid the ******** *********, the league announced Wednesday.

Las Vegas, which had been scheduled to host the game, will instead host the Pro Bowl after the 2021 season.

This will be the first time since the 1949 season that the NFL hasn't held some form of a postseason all-star game.

American tennis player Sam Querry, his wife and young son, have fled Russia and are hiding in some European country Airbnb because they have symptoms and fear being forced into a Russian hospital.

After testing positive for the ********, the Querreys were reportedly instructed to quarantine for 14 days at their hotel, the opulent St. Petersburg Four Seasons. The family reportedly had no problems with that part of the plan.

However, the Querreys then reportedly received a call from a representative of the Russian health authorities who said a doctor would visit to examine them. If the family displayed symptoms — they were reportedly experiencing what they believed to be mild symptoms — they would face a forced hospitalization.

At that point, supposedly out of fear of the hospital stay and being separated from their infant son in a foreign country, Querrey reportedly arranged for a private jet to secretly take his family across the Russian border. They reportedly sat in the back of the jet to distance themselves from the pilot.

College football teams are dealing with increasing spread of CV19 amongst players and coaches.

Meanwhile, the diagnosis of college football’s most successful active head coach is the latest in a string of *********-related issues sustained this week by the country’s most high-profile conference. Florida and Vanderbilt have, at least, a combined 60 players out for ***** reasons, resulting in postponements of their games this weekend against LSU and Missouri, respectively. Ole Miss is battling an outbreak as well, coach Lane Kiffin told reporters Wednesday.

Across the country, at least 29 games (about 10% of those played) have been postponed or canceled because of a ***** that has killed more than 200,000 people in America and nearly 1.1 million worldwide. Saban became the seventh FBS head coach to reveal that he’s tested positive, and his diagnosis sends a chilling reminder of what medical experts have cautioned throughout the summer.

Colombian cyclist Fernando Gaviria tested positive for C19 for the second time during Giro d'Italia. (First time was in Feb/Mar during UAE Tour)

This is scary as the immunity only lasted for about half a year.
That's sad to hear. He was in the hospital for almost a month earlier, but he's reportedly asymptomatic this time. Another rider at the Giro withdrew due to what is likely a false positive test. I hope his is a false positive too, but there have been a number of confirmed positives during the race as well.

If you're the NFL, this makes perfect sense:

The NFL announced Thursday that Sunday's Buccaneers-Raiders game, originally scheduled for 8:20 p.m. on NBC, now will start at 4:05 p.m. on Fox.

The league said it made the move "out of an abundance of caution to ensure that a game would be available for fans on Sunday Night Football."

The Seahawks-Cardinals game will now be played Sunday night.

Raiders tackle Trent Brown was placed on the reserve/*********-19 list Wednesday, and the team sent home all five of its starting offensive linemen from practice as part of contact tracing.

In its statement, the league said it still expects Buccaneers-Raiders to be played Sunday.

NFL and logic don't seem to be existing in the same space/time continuum.

Week 2 of Big 10 college football- Wisconsin cancelled its game with Nebraska. I believe 2 quarterbacks and a coach have C-19.

Sure, there will still be a Nebraska/Iowa football game on black Friday
