The National Team comprises those athletes who meet the following criteria:

• Top three in senior singles, pairs, and ice dance disciplines at the 2026 Canadian National Skating Championships
• Assigned to a 2026/2027 ISU Grand Prix event at the ISU Grand Prix Selection meeting
• Competing in the 2026/2027 season
• Skate Canada has the discretion to add athletes/teams during the 2026-2027 season

We're guessing this means he's retiring, but nothing has been announced officially. If he was planning to compete this season, he would be on the team, based on medalling at Canadians.

I wish Skate Canada would publish the athletes receiving AAP funding (aka carding).

If I’m reading this right, Gilles/Poirier (3), Gogolev (5), and Perreira/Michaud (8) (would) qualify for SR1.

If they hadn’t split, Stellato-Dudek (5) and Lajoie/Lagha (7) would have qualified for SR2 based on meeting the SR1 criteria last season for results at 2025 Worlds.

International SB targets for SR based on average of 2nd and 3rd at 2026 WC’s:

For developmental (only partial) Dupuis should qualify with a high of 185.66 at 2025 CS Warsaw Cup. She wouldn’t have the max D cards at the senior level. Ruiter has a high of 178.44 from 2025 CS Nebelhorn, but I don’t know how many D cards she already had in five senior seasons. Landry has a 177.18 from 2026 4C’s. Midland-Spence has at least 151.57 from 2025 CS Nebelhorn.

For the Men, Messing would if he were still skating with a 218.41 at 2025 IceChallenge. Score wise, Newnham does with at least a 219.53 at 2025 CS Denis Ten, and Chou has at least a 220.31 at 4C’s. His 4th at Can Nats really hurt him: 3rd would have given him an SR card. Long also has the score (at least 221.71 at 2025 JGP Riga), as do Anthony Paradis (2025 Cranberry Cup, 200.91), David Bondar (at least 202.60 at 2026 Jr. Worlds, and Edward Vasii(at least 185.75 at2025 ISU JGP Solidarity Cup.

Desroschers/Thrasher (1) and Veillon/Brandys (4j should qualify under both Top 6 at 2026 Jr. Worlds and score wise.

Among the new Dance and Pairs teams, at least Lajoie, Lagha, Fabbri, Ayer, Ethier, and Laurin should qualify, since they were SR or SR1 carded in 2024-5 and/or 2025-6.

I believe you made an error for the women - the #2 score from worlds was 228.47, not 288. So the average is about 221, so 80% of that is around 177. That would make quite a few women eligible for SR carding (Schizaz, Dupuis, Daleman, Ruiter and Landry).

Thank you for that @danafan ! I certainly read that wrong and it didn’t ring a bell that 288.47 would have been 4th in the Men’s event
