Scandinavian skater's news thread

With Joshi in Toronto, Danish ice dance being both competitive and hot, and even Norwegian skating on the rise, I thought a news thread would be good.

Of course, I was very much inspired by Anne Line Gjersems Instagram, she doing 3toe3toes in practice, and even sometimes 3flip3toes. She's improving so much every season, can't wait to see what's next. I mean, when was a Norwegian skater doing 3f3t????? :respec:

Twin sister Camilla is still recovering from her injury. Still on crutches, she's doing rehab with a physiotherapist.

@maatTheViking any news from you neighbors in the south?

Joshi Helgeson shows of a lovely tanolutz:

And her new long program dress:

Anyone knows anything about Majorov? Is he back to full fitness again? I really, really hope his father is alright too.

Great idea to start this thread, SmallFairy! It is so nice to see progress in areas where it may not necessarily be expected. Thank you for the updates. Keep up the good work!

thank you!

Just for reference, here is Laurence and Nikolaj's facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/LaurenceNikolaj/ They have a link to their new SD from a summer comp on there.

According to the Danish Federation, their current planned competitions are:

Finlandia Trophy. 6. – 10 oct.
Autumn Classic international 28. sept. -1. oct.
GP Canada, Skate Canada 28-30 oct
GP Rusland, Rostelecom Cup 4. – 6. nov.
EM, Ostrava 25.-29. jan.
VM, Helsinki, 29. mar. – 2. apr.

Looks like they might not be going to the Danish Championships this year again.

Thank you so much for starting this thread. It is nice to have something focused as opposed to huge and unwieldy.

That dress is Flippin gorgeous!

Glad for this thread.

How are the Swedish jr ladies doing this season? I know they don't have many spots in jpg, but a couple of the young ones look promising.

Yes! :cheer: I'm actually a little disappointed that Majorov and Reynolds are the only ones trying to suck up to the Finnish crowd in Helsinki with Finnish music. :drama: I was expecting many more!

Dead pop star to compete with....

Another win for Alexander Majorov :cheer: He won the NRW Trophy with 228.84 points. He had a clean SP (83.43 points) and a bit rough FS (145.41 points) but managed to land a 4T in both programmes.

Videos: SP, FS

Alexander says in a recent interview that his goal is to make the top 5 at Euros and top 10 at Worlds. I hope he stays healthy and achieves what he is aiming for :cheer2:

Alexander Majorov mentions his father Alexander senior in this article:

Google translate
The pre-season and season introduction, however, been particular. Just like last year practicing Olympic skier - who in January also takes her degree in physiotherapy - without his coach and father, Alexander Majorov senior, at his side.

- But I get help now and then with jacking. He is a little more freely now, and less susceptible to infection than he was before - so he can stand aside sometimes and watch, says Lulea skier.

- But we have learned to take responsibility now, not just rely on one person. I have learned to decide what is good and bad.

That it means a big change is clear.

- Everything is a big change - everything changed course. My whole life has changed, says Alexander Majorov and adds about his father's illness:

- He is feeling much better than before, so far it looks good. But we are awaiting notification if he is declared healthy or not.
