Parking Lot Chicken BBQ

Ok, let's be honest. Do you live in an area where parking lot chicken BBQ is a thing? Because I do. Today we got the first one of the season. And it's absolutely delicious. It's not at all as good as Chiavetteas, but a close second. I anticipate at least 10 more before the season ends.

Nope

Sounds like fun though. In Toronto it is hard to find even a hotdog vendor.

Organizations do it for fundraising, mostly. This one raised funds for the volunteer fire department. Every year some class will do one to raise funds for their senior trip etc...

@Badams, it’s sort of an Upstate NY thing. Formally named Cornell Chicken, but also called “mop chicken” amongst other colloquialisms. It’s something I miss about home during summertime. I’ve come across similar in the eastern part of the Carolinas…but if I’m in those neighborhoods I’d rather indulge in the more regionally significant pulled pork sandwich.

I called them fundraiser bbqs. We usually got Chiavettas from the church fundraisers.

Nothing like that in Winnipeg but we do have food truck during the summer lunch hour down town which would include a chicken option?
