The new season of the Korean show Stranger is up on Netflix (season two) - I recommend this show so highly. The acting is impeccable and it's a really well-written and interesting show.

I’ve almost done with the first 8 episodes of Lucifer S05 (Netflix) and in comparison to the greatness of S04, I’m underwhelmed.

The chemistry between all the actors just seems gone.

No news on when the remaining S05 episodes will be available.

Coming soon to Netflix :cheer2:
I was not warned, but I watched all of S1 over the weekend. It is both so, so wrong and shockingly gritty. Just about every turn of events made me feel some kind of way (minus the many, many fan service flashbacks).

Haven't gotten started on S2 because I read that, as happens all too often with surprise hits, they dialed back the dark humor and went OTT with the melodrama.

I absolutely loved season one except for that little bit at the end with Miguel. Season two for me is just meh. But still worth watching.

I just binged "How to Get Away With Murder". I loved it! But so much went over my head I have so many questions.

I loved both seasons of Cobra Kai but the first season is really a gem. I love how the characters evolved, especially the kids. Even if the change was for the darker. How Eli turned into Hawk was quite impressive. The actor was so convincing playing both incarnation.

I binged both seasons of Kobra Kai already. Agree that season 1 was better.

I just got done watching CBGB on Amazon Prime about Hilly Kristal and the club's focus on punk music. He was a disgusting slob of a human being but he did start something big. Interesting movie overall. I don't know that I would ever have wanted to be in his club though (disgusting bathrooms, food, cockroaches, dog shitting on the floor).

Alan Rickman plays Hilly Kristal and, as always, was phenomenal.

We just started watching season 1 of Cobra Kai. I never actually saw the Karate Kid movies, but I'm still enjoying the show. I dig the whole concept of exploring how the future actually turned out for the characters in an epic teen drama. I agree the dark humor/grittiness is the best part of the show (disappointing if that gets lost later on)!

Disney’s Mulan is now available for rent here for $35. They must be out of their minds! There is no way I am paying that much to watch a movie at home.
No kidding....now if I had six kids and a tub of popcorn........

It's $30 here in the U.S. It would be one thing if I were purchasing the movie to add to my digital collection, but it's $30 for a RENTAL. Ridiculous. Especially when it's going to be made available to all Disney+ subscribers on Dec. 4. I can wait three months.

That's about the only people it makes sense for. Okay, maybe only 3 kids are needed.

I am not willing to spend as much on a movie to see it at home as I do see it in the theater. No matter how cool the movie looks.

I saw an advert for the second season of "The Boys" on amazon prime so I looked up the first series and we absolutely binged 6 episodes back to back yesterday. Really enjoyed it, but I had to laugh at Karl Urban's accent. To start with we were pleased that he must have been directed to use his normal New Zealand accent but then we kept noticing him breaking into very poor attempt at cockney accent hear and there but wasn't even vaguely disguising his mostly New Zealand vowels. Then in around the 3rd episode a couple of characters referred to him as "that British guy" and we  we've not watched the final two episode of season one yet so I don't know if there was a burning need for him to be British, but otherwise i don't know why they couldn't just make him a Kiwi rather than a Brit.

One season of Come Dine With Me is on Netflix and I had forgotten how hilarious Dave Lambe’s narration was.

We've caught up and as far as I can tell, there is no reason he has to be British. Maybe one will be revealed in the future but I suspect not.

We've been binge watching Community on Hulu. We missed a lot of early 2010s primetime shows because they were smack in the middle of Young Skateycat's bedtime routine. We're halfway through season six. I'm going to be sad when it is over.

Finished all eleven seasons on NCIS:LA last week (flew through them in 5 1/2 weeks....gotta love working from home!) and now I feel kind of lost with my binge being complete. I loved all of it though (Kensi + Deeks = relationship goals 💖) and will continue to watch the reruns on Ion TV so I can get my fix in while I wait for the new season. BTW-Daniela Ruah (she plays Kensi) posted last week that they started filming S12 which means one more of my shows is back in production for their new season (I think I now have four total that have started filming for their next seasons). :cheer:

Now I'm patiently waiting for S4 of The Good Place to hit Netflix later this month because I never got to watch the last episodes and I really want to know how the shows ends. Somehow I've managed to avoid spoilers which might be my greatest achievement in 2020, LOL

I've managed to know nothing about S4 at all - but I'm going to have to go back and rewatch S3 before I get to S4.

I totally get it. I'm planning to watch all of S4 because I can't remember what all happened in the eps that I've already seen and it will definitely flow better if I watch it all at once. :D

Mr Antmanb used to be obsessed with Come Dine With Me but in the end it's the narrator that made me want to throw things at the tv

I finally watched Star Trek: Picard. I was waiting until I had the time to binge all the episodes at once so I could fit them into Amazon Prime's 30 day free trial* (yes, I am that person). I enjoyed it, but it wasn't Star Trek. It had nicked bits from Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Blake's 7 and a little Babylon 5. Also, did it need that many sub-plots, some of which went nowhere? And whatever happened to Star Trek being a positive representation of the future that we could aspire to? It was like they wanted to make a science fiction show about the potential issues with artificial life, came up with a set of quirky characters, but then couldn't get it commisioned without hooking it onto the Star Trek franchise, so they slammed it into that universe even though it didn't really fit.

I'll wait until next time I'm on leave to subscribe to Netflix (no free trial for that here) and see Star Trek: Discovery.

*It is on Amazon Prime in Australia and Star Trek:Discovery is on Australian Netflix - please don't tell me I'm wrong. I'm not. Programme rights are based on territory, and can be different in different countries.

Is anyone watching Raised by Wolves? It’s a very slow burn but you get sucked in without realizing it. I feel like this is what Ridley Scott wanted Prometheus and Alien: Covenant to be and Mother is what David should have been (alternatively sympathetic and truly terrifying).

Found a 90s show (British) I'd never heard of called Heat of the Sun. It was set in the 1930s and is about a British Cop who commits a career killing move and is exiled to Kenya to work with the Nairobi police. Scenery is to die for. There are only 3 episodes, but they are long. I would describe it as a male version of Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries without the whimsical touches.

ETA: it's on prime

I've been re-watching Glee.

Almost done with Season 1. I think I only missed two episodes of Season 1 back in the day....LOL.

But I know I haven't watched all of the episodes of the other seasons so looking forward to seeing some of those.

We finished season 2 of Cobra Kai. The season finale was way OTT but still, overall, I am really enjoying this show. Ralph Macchio has to be one of the most appealing actors I've seen lately; his natural "good-guyness," without macho posturing, is something you rarely see on TV. And I love William Zabka as Johnny. He brings so much realness and poignance to a character who's just continually trying to overcome negative drag in his life. I'm not as into the teen storyline (especially pretty-boy Robbie) but I do find Miguel, Samantha, Aisha, and Hawk pretty interesting.
