Yes, her name is Amaia Salamanca! I loved her in Gran Hotel and Velvet (she also shows up in Velvet Collection) and moved up Morocco over Cable Girls on my watch list because she was the lead! I agree about the great production value.

Velvet Collection is fun! I loved having Clara as the lead because I was kind of over Ana/Alberto by the end of Velvet. Be prepared for Clara/Mateo to go through similar relationship angst but it's much more tolerable as Clara's two potential love interests are both extremely gorgeous LOL. :swoon:

I just finished Morocco: Love in Times of War. Sigh...such great characters, all so sympathetic. I’ll probably watch Cable Girls next. Speaking of Alberto, the actor who played him, Miguel Angel Silvestre, showed up in Narcos season 3. Further up this thread I mentioned the series The Time in Between (El Tiempo Entre las Costuras). It’s not on Netflix, but you can find it on Daily Motion. Don’t miss it—it’s wonderful!

Just finished watching Lenox Hill on Netflix. Tremendously moving docuseries following a number of physicians and other Lenox Hill personnel in the Neurosurgery, OBGYN, and ER series. Binge watched it over a two day period.

I must watch this; I've been in that hospital so many times that I can find my way there in the dark. 95% of my medical team has admitting privileges at Lenox Hill. I'm glad to know the docuseries is with seeing.

Just finished bingeing two seasons of the Israeli spy drama 'False Flag'. Highly recommend if you like intriguing spy shows. Just read that a third season is being made, so I am looking forward to that. Apparently Apple TV is making an American version.

Enjoyed 'The Great' so much as well. Anything with Sacha Dhawan in it is fine with me!

If you love the Artemis Fowl books, under no circumstances should you watch the new movie on Disney+. Heck, even if you've never read the books, the movie is just plain awful. They took a bunch of names from the book and made different characters in a story that sort of tracks the first two books but not really. The director must be really bad at his job because he couldn't get good performances out of anyone. And one of the actors is Dame Judi Dench! There is just no heart behind it and none of the emotional moments feel earned.

Over the weekend I started to re-watch Friday Night Lights. This show is heartwarming, funny, coach Eric Taylor and his wife Tami are one of the best couples on TV ( and rarely found off screen ). I'm not into football, American or otherwise. A decade back a friend of mine talked me into it. It took several attempts to convince me, he didn't give up. I started watching and was immediately on the hook.
Last weekend I felt a bit down, and this show came into my mind. My mood changed instantaneously. I spent a very nice weekend with the Dillon Panthers, and all the misfits, jocks, dreamers of the first season.

Anyone else start watching "365 Days" on Netflix without really knowing what it was about?

Holy shite.....it's as close to porn as you will get on Netflix.

DH and I were WTF is this?!?!?!

Finally turned it off as it was such a bad script and acting.

Nothing redeemable there except if you like graphic :grope: between HAWT actors.

Found out after that it is based on a trilogy of BDSM books that tries to emulate "50 Shades of Grey."

Those Grey movies were bad enough but were Oscar worthy cinematography compared to "365 Days."

Of course, "365 Days" is trending number 1 in Canada on Netflix.:rofl::rofl:

Friday Night Lights is still one of my favorite shows of the last 20 years or so. Outstanding acting and writing. :)

Oh, I’ll have to check it out. I’ve been waiting for it to show up on a streaming service. I had to watch the first episode for a television studies class in university but it wasn’t anywhere I could watch it easily at the time to keep watching but I really wanted to.

Just started Love, Victor on Hulu. Doesn’t seem as good as Love, Simon but it’s cute enough to continue.

Orphan Black is so great! I have never seen the final season though.

HBO is streaming Watchmen for free this weekend in celebration of Juneteenth. I watched 3 eps last night and I'm going to try to cram the other 6 in today. Wish I'd known this on Friday night lol. Loving the show, but as someone with only a vague knowledge of the 1980s comics it's a little confusing, and all the recaps I've found so far spend more time talking about the comics than the show, so now I think I'm just going to take in what I'm seeing and try to get the full picture much later.

I watch this podcast for a few different shows, and it helped when watching Watchmen because I wasn't familiar with the previous movie & comics.

Just finished ‘The Boys’ on Prime.

Amazing. It’s about what superheroes would be like if they weren’t the perfect upstanding citizens comics make them out to be. It’s like if superman actually existed, what would he be like? The answer - a narcissistic, psychopath with a giant god complex.

Its fantastic. Apparently the second season won’t be held up too much by ‘rona. So looking forward to that in the coming months.

I'm getting the best ideas from this thread! Had never heard of this show but dh and I watched 2 episodes last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Looking forward to more. Thanks!

Have watched two seasons (12 episodes) of Last Tango in Halifax. It's lovely--great acting, great characters, fab story.

And if anyone is curious, I am over 70, the main story line is for oldies but there are lots of different age story lines.

Thanks! Will check that out.

Turns out that the lore background provided by recaps proved helpful for later episodes. This series was pretty incredible, and now I feel hungover. I haven't watched that much of anything in such a short timeframe in a long, long time.

Agree. Some of the scenes were a difficult watch,
(like that opening scene where Hughie was left holding the bloody, severed hands of his suddenly dead girlfriend)
but it was a fascinating look at what superheroes would be like if their heroism was all for show.

Season Three of Dark is coming this week-end and I am majorly excited. I have some worries about if they can pull it off but I didn't think they could pull Season Two off and I absolutely loved it so I am hopeful.
