Okay, can I get suggestions movies or series for an old married couple who love some of the same stuff but absolutely hate each other’s taste in others? :p
Him: Caddyshack is the greatest movie ever made!
Her: West Side Story!
Him: Musicals suck! Hey, I hear Hamilton is good?
Her: Are you kidding me?
Him: Mafia! Drug Cartels!
Her: Breakfast Club, Legally Blonde, or Stepbrothers for the millionth time?
Him: ok
Her: or….Grand Budapest Hotel? Amadeus?
Him: Amawhat?
Him: Breaking Bad?
Her: Absolutely not
Both: Schitts Creek it is!!

We just finished the second season of The Bureau, and I’m definitely hooked now. The second season had a lot more plot and action than the first one did. Plus I feel like I’m finally getting to know the characters better and like them more. The Iran storyline was both interesting and visually striking.

We've been watching Ted Lasso and every episode seems to remind me a bit of Schitt's Creek. It started out similarly with me thinking that I'm not going to ever be able to find anything attractive or redeemable in any of these characters to keep me watching, but then there will be this one thing in every episode that makes me go hmmm, or smile, or stirs me in some way. And then I'm hooked.

We frustratingly cannot get Ted Lasso - seems we have everything except whatever Ted is streaming on.

Ted Lasso is totally worth the hassle of a free trial. Brooklyn 99 or Superstore might also fit the bill and they’re on Netflix. For movies maybe Logan Lucky or Hit and Run?

We tried Superstore - I liked it but he didn’t which is weird because Costco is his favourite place to shop.

I liked it at first but the things I didn't like got more and more prominent and eventually, we were just watching it because we'd started it and wanted to finish it.

I forgot to say that I think SuperStore is a sendup of Walmart, not Costco though. They are very different experiences.

How violent is The Americans and keep in mind that I have less tolerance for violence than your average kindergartener?

Over the whole series, a lot of people do get killed. But, there are also many episodes where nothing violent happens. It's like there's this constant threat of violence that pervades the entire series (sort of the nature of spy work), but only now and then does it actually break out. If that makes sense. I would highly recommend it. (Just do what I did and close your eyes during the bad parts. :D )

Finish season 2 of See on Apple+ and loved it! It has Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista in it! Yes it is very violent and had me closing my eyes more than once.

Am rewatching "The Americans" on DisneyPlus. :swoon:
Oh thanks for this!

I have been wanting to see it and didn’t realize it was on DisneyPlus. :cheer2:

Eta. Ugh….it’s not on DisneyPlus in Canada. :mitchell:

I did find it on YouTube though. $23 a season.

I may have to splurge. :shuffle:

It's also on Amazon Prime if you have that? For $23 a season, might just be worth buying the DVD box set.

Yes we have Amazon Prime but it’s not on the Canada Amazon Prime either.

Not sure why it can’t be shown in Canada on Amazon or Disney.

Maybe Youtube has the rights or something?

But yes good point….maybe Santa could bring me the box set.

I watched the first couple of episodes of The Americans last year and couldn’t stick with it. I think it may have been too dark for that time in my life so maybe I’ll give it another shot one day. I just breezed through Yellowstone the last few weeks which is very dark and loved every minute of it.

My service provider doesn’t have that channel and I can’t even get it on my mobile.

I think I’m SOL except for Youtube.

Thanks for trying though.

I know I’m late with this, but I just finished Come from Away on Apple TV+. OMG, what a fantastic show! I watched it over a few days, a half hour at a time, but I am going to go back and watch the whole thing in one sitting.
