I also appreciated the town itself - very typical of small towns in Southern Ontario - every building, house, street, cafe, The Blouse Barn, the gently rolling countryside - I’ve been there.

I always wondered where in Canada (like, what province) the show was supposed to take place!

Loved Stevie - her dead pan passive aggressive don’t give a shit attitude is so much fun. And that she never knew how freakin gorgeous she really was.
Roland squicked me out the entire run.

Yes, to all of this. I ended up loving all of the characters except Roland. The only time I've ever liked Chris Elliott was in Groundhog Day.

My favourite character ended up being Alexis. Her backstory kills me. I think the scene where she is trying to coach David when is going for his driving test is when I knew she had won me over, although it is somewhat foreshadowed by the raw milk episode.

Obi-Wan Kenobi cast was announced yesterday.
Excited to see Hayden Christensen back along with Ewan McGregor. Haven't seen him in much since Revenge of the Sith.

I don't blame him. The source material barely include Simon/Daphne after the first book. And he must have a ton of offers now. He is a star now.
Yeah, I don't blame him either. It's just that he was a huge part of the reason why I loved the show. I don't know if I'm going to get as much enjoyment out of it without him.

They only offered him a one season character arc and that is why he agreed to do Bridgerton in the first place.

But yeah, super bummed he won’t be back.

I watched the film '2012' last night. I thought I had seen it, but I was confusing it with 'The Day After Tomorrow'.

What a trainwreck of a film. They could have chopped an hour and dialed back the CGI quite a bit and it could have been a neat little disaster movie, but no

ETA: Needed some Jake Gyllenhaal, too ;)

Quite enjoying The Falcon and The Winter Soldier so far. Episode 3 was quite a rush!

I am enjoying the character arcs, though I can see how difficult it is going to be to keep Sam and Bucky's arcs even-paced at the moment. I'm glad that between the hilarious buddy-cop moments we're getting serious character development.

I saw a bit of discourse on social media that some people felt Bucky is being a bit too hard on Sam after episode 2, but I actually think the opposite. There are way too many people that seem to think Bucky should be able to just snap his fingers and be a-okay with everything right now. I know it's not the trauma Olympics but jeez, what this guy has been through can't be dealt with with a snap of the fingers and a few therapy sessions.

"And if he was wrong about you, then maybe he was wrong about me." Someone give Sebastian Stan an award for the sheer vulnerability with which he delivered that line. Because that's what it all comes down to, isn't it?

People are probably going to roll their eyes about the sub-plot with the cops and the black super soldier in episode 2 but I liked it, it was topical and gave us an insight into both characters' POV.

I am loving the introduction of Zemo. (Maybe because I'm totally partial to Daniel Bruhl, but still.) He's turned out to be a very important person to the plot. I'll be interested to see where they take this storyline next. One character I have been a little disappointed with the handling of so far is Sharon Carter. I did like that they gave her a realistic take - not everyone got their magic ending, and some people had real consequences - and mouthy, cynical Sharon was definitely not the take I was prepared for. That said, if this is really her only appearance in the series I will be quite cheesed. And the teaser for the introduction of the Wakandans in episode 4! I can't wait!

Also, Bucky is 100% going to punch John Walker in the face with his metal arm at some point, and I'm not even going to feel bad about it.

Meanwhile, I also binged Drive to Survive season 3, and I can't say I loved it. There were so many dramatic stories and moments in F1 last year and Netflix resorted to inventing shit? Where was the George Russell fairytale? Where was the departure of the Williams family from the sport? Where was the dramatic Daniel Ricciardo podiums? Where was Perez's positive 'rona test, then later, Stroll's? Where was the drama with Perez, who saved Force India to become Racing Point, losing his seat at season's end to Vettel, because Racing Point had been bought by Daddy Stroll and obviously Stroll wasn't going to lose his seat, which meant we nearly had a ridiculous situation where Perez, who won the second-last race of the year, nearly didn't have a seat for the next year? Where was all the drama about Mazepin? (Oh, we know why that was.) Why was Hamilton's anti-racism campaign shoehorned into the closing three minutes of the series? (Oh wait, I can actually take a punt on why that was.)

I mean, yes, they milked the Grosjean crash hard, and that's fair, because for 30 seconds, all of us thought he was dead. And that was a big deal. But there was so much else going on, and they chose to fabricate storylines like the fake Norris-Sainz friendship breakup instead.

Well, I'm glad I only signed up to Netflix for a month for that pile of trash.

The problem I had with the cops vs. Sam subplot is that I didn't think Sam's reactions rang true. He acted like he had no idea what was going on and/or as if he had never experienced this before. That's not realistic.

One of the indices is how fast you get to guest host Saturday Night Live and his arc proves it.

Just binged on Who Killed Sara? on Netflix. I wasn't expecting to like it much but I did. And season 2 is coming out in May. Thank goodness I don't have to wait for long!

We are enjoying The Irregulars on Netflix. It involves Sherlock Holmes (minimally so far) with a splash of Supernatural and Buffy (think Scooby Gang with a good, non-vampire version of Drusilla). There is even Spike but I’m not a fan yet (only two episodes in so there is still time).

We just finished it. We liked it too.

I’m glad we found out what happened.
When I heard that there was a season 2 I thought they would drag that part out.

Have been watching The Serpent. Another serial killer series based on the story of Charles Sobhraj. I think the performances are very good but the back and forth of timelines is a bit annoying. But maybe it is designed to put things in context.

I've been trying to get myself into the mood to watch Wandavision and Falcon/Winter Soldier but I haven't felt like it. I am dying to see Loki though. So this is original Avengers Loki who tried to conquer Earth right? The one from End Game where he grabbed the Tesseract and disappeared after being arrested setting up a different timeline after the first Avengers movie.

Falcon and Winter Soldier are two of my least favorite Avenger characters. But I've been warming up to Bucky from watching the new show.
