I hope her doctor will say no and let her rest. National will be intense.Few days before CoR she felt the pain in her right foot, but she didn't pay attention to that (as it's a common thing for a top level athlete). 2-3 days before the event the pain intensified and they came to the doctors, she was diagnosed with the crack in the metatarsal bone on the right foot. At the CoR she skated after having few painkiller injections, then immediately went to Germany, where the diagnosis was confirmed.
She didn't have enough time to heal her injury properly between Rostelecom and NHK, despite training less hours. She skated her LP using a very strong painkillers again. Now she is doing a rehabilitation, the doctors put a cast on her foot. She hopes to compete at GPF no matter what and will WD only if her doctors forbid it.

All jumps come with a pay, good technique or not. Certainly, bad technique will make you pay worse in my opinion. But all skaters have injuries at some point anyway. And, another one bites the dust! I am sorry that she is injured, and hope she is able to both take care of herself, and return to competition. There is a price to pay for all those jumps....tano or not. Ask Tara, Shomo, Yuzru...etc. This is all going to be so interesting to see how it unfolds.
With so much at stake for all of them, it will be hard for the skaters to make decisions. And Eteri, from what I saw in the K&C when one of her skaters fell in the SP doesn't seem very compassionate.
Because it's Evgenia. Why on earth would she continue to skate with painkillers at silly GP events in an Olympic year?!?!![]()
Because it's Evgenia.
As she said, she has never ever missed an event due to injury and it will be to difficult for her to just sit at home and watch all others competing in Nagoya
You can skate with painkillers? Isn't that drugging?
I would imagine skating with painkillers isn’t a good thing as you could make the injury worse if you can’t feel anything. You hope it is, but it's not. Certain painkillers aren't on the list and Evgenia is far from the only one who's ever skated with a painkilling injection.
And as Karne has said, certain painkillers are not on the list. I am sure many skaters and athletes use painkillers too.You can skate with painkillers? Isn't that drugging?

She says why in the linked article: “It is an Olympic season, but it is completely unclear what will happen in the future considering the situation in our sport, and besides, I’ve never missed a competition because of an injury even when I had been injured.”Why on earth would she continue to skate with painkillers at silly GP events in an Olympic year?!?!![]()
