And "shorty" Cobolli giving Italy more to cheer for in 3 straight sets for his best ever Slam result, so far.

Looks like Fritz is also only going to need 3 sets to take out Bublik, which surprises me. Bublik was incredible in his win over Tiafoe, but maybe that long physical battle took too much out of him. Fritz' game play has had a bit of Sampras serve-volley style that is well suited for the grass though. Will have to catch the highlights.

Yes. It's why he's in the ATP Top 10. As for Fritz... I have him as a finalist this year. I just think he's looked really good so far. He's only been pushed to 4 sets once, and let's face it. Grass is not Zverev's surface (I expect him to prevail against Lehecka, as he was already up 2 sets when play was suspended today).

Pegula falls short... again. Although I like Coco's focus and strength, I didn't expect her to do great on this surface. Her new coaching has helped in that regard, and she carries a lot of maturity for her age on the court.

Muchova taking out Osaka is a surprise to me, even though she's higher ranked. Naomi was playing brilliantly the last couple of rounds. :(

Sinner easily gets through Struff and will get a much more winded opponent for his semi. Meh.

If Sinner needs Novak at 39 years old to be winded, what does that say about his own conditioning? He was saved a couple of times "down under" when the heat was getting to him; the roof was closed! That inexplicable loss in Paris in the 2nd Rd. still makes me SMH! He was up 2 sets to love at the time! Personally I thought he played too much trying to break Novak's record of 4 straight Masters victories! He didn't need to do all that work before a Major! It was insane! :rolleyes: 😱:2faced::p

I didn't say he needs Novak to be winded, but it's obviously to his advantage to have had a quarterfinal which was half the length of his upcoming opponent. Listen, I'd love for Novak to go all the way... I'd hope that today's epic 5 hour 15 minute battle gives him even more emotional fortitude to know he can prevail. And hopefully his mental strength will keep allowing the physical to hold up. 🙏

I realize it's tough to win a Slam, especially with best of 5 rule for men. I just didn't expect Taylor to go down in 3 quick sets.

As bad luck would have it, my cable box got fried, apparently, and I can't get it returned until mid Saturday morning, meaning I'll surely miss the ladies final. :wuzrobbed

(I can get the ESPN+ app for free through my cable company but I don't know if there are Wimbledon replays on there.)

You Tube saves me time & time again! Seems to have everything I need on it including clips I taped back 40 yrs ago on VHS format! :rolleyes:

I discovered Peacock has some matches. I may luck out as I think the finals are on ABC, not ESPN, and might be on Hulu, so I'll have options if I miss the ladies final, I hope. 🤞

Same. I may skip the final this year. My response when Zverev and Sinner made it through: Meh. I don't hate either of them, just not that excited to watch.
