ISU Council doubles the skating prize money purse

Total prize pool goes from $5.4 million to $10.54 million. $3.54 million of increase goes to additional prize money for competitions, $1.6 million of increase goes to new pot for rewarding World Rankings position.

In related, they also decided to dole out $2 million to federations for travel contributions based on attendance at ISU events over last 3 seasons. Other smaller updates in the communication as well.

I think zero, this is being positioned as a brand new prize pot to reward skaters who don't podium at events regularly but are regular participants at competitions

For a short while, they gave money to the top-ranked skater/teams in World Rankings (only the latest year's results), until they stopped. It wasn't World Standings, which is based on three years. In the communication, they write "world rankings, rewarding a sizeable cross-section of
skaters for their participation and performance over three-year periods." which is typical of their communications.

Isn't speed skating in the other table (page 3)? Because the allocations into the groups aren't the same? For example, Netherlands, Poland, Kazakstan and Norway are in Group 1 (40000) for Speed
