In Memoriam

Pneumonia. I remember this because my doctor sent me to get an pneumonia shot right after that and one of her arguments was that people die of pneumonia the way Jim Henson did--fast and hard--and he likely had a better hospital team than I would.
I don't know why that sticks with me. It was the same day that Sammy Davis Jr. died and that was sad as well but we knew Sammy had been fighting cancer. But Henson was just so out of the blue and maddening because he didn't get help until it was too late. I guess, if nothing else, there is a lesson there.

Jim Henson actually had a very virulent strep organism causing his pneumonia and sepsis. It's not unusual for that infection to result in rapid death even with prompt and appropriate medical attention.

That one hits as bad as Catherine O'Hara did. :( I was a huge Buffy fan back in the day. Anthony's wife died about 6 months ago, I can't help but think his broken heart exacerbated the pneumonia complications. Condolences to their daughters, losing both parents in such a short amount of time is awful.

As my friend posted on FB - Godspeed, Giles.

Why are Buffy actors dropping like flies lately :fragile: Someone wrap Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alyson Hannigan in cotton batting, pls

ETA: Amber Benson and Seth Green too while we're at it

His brother Murray is so well known for being the speaking/rapping voice in the original concept album and video versions of "One Night In Bangkok" from "Chess"", and from "Jesus Christ Superstar" among other roles.
I had no idea. Small world and from what everyone is saying about Mr. Head is that it was a better place with him in it. RIP
