Just a reminder in the new year get your skin checked for moles and other things that could potentially be cancerous.
I had mine done recently and a large mole that had never caused me any problem or been raised as a concern before was found to be the start of a melanoma. Now I have over 12 sutures (that is just the exterior sutures, not the interior ones) in my back because the doctor had to remove the margins of it just as a precaution.
So doing my public health service and advising that it is important to do these preventative health measures as it could stop something becoming more serious.
Also thank goodness for our public health system here. For an over $400 consultation and procedure, it only cost me $35 out of pocket. Plus the doctor and his assistant are really good. Feeling very grateful.
