We do that with Netflix (which is currently on pause) but we watch Paramount+ too much to do that for it.

Strange New Worlds is the only reason I'm keeping Paramount+ at the moment. I pay yearly so I guess I'll have it for another couple of years, but then it's gone unless something else good comes up to justify keeping it. We don't get many deals/offers on streaming services here so there's less incentive to drop and re-start than there otherwise would be.

I watch quite a few shows on Paramount, but some are being cancelled. And Paramount+ may not exist after this year in light of the planned merger with HBO Max.

I had a half price deal on an annual plan that I thought was worth it, but last year no particularly good deal was coming up. So I had cancelled and didn't pick it up again until like April, so I saved around 5 months worth of payments. Not a huge amount but still...

If they put all the Paramount+ stuff on HBO Max, that would benefit us greatly as we subscribe to HBO Max and we watch it constantly. At least once a week. So we'd never drop that. But dropping Paramount+ and still being able to watch Star Trek stuff on HBO Max would save us money!

Yeah, I get HBO Max as part of my satellite package so I'd be fine with that too. It's HBO with ads whereas I have premium for Paramount+, but I can live with that as I don't watch a lot on either right now.

Speaking of ads on streaming, oh my goodness, Prime is rapidly becoming as bad as YouTube for the number of interuprtions for ads in an effort to get you to upgrade. I can grit my teeth through it on YouTube as it's free, but we're paying from Prime and it has way more breaks than the basic tier on the other streamers.
 
I watched the second season of "Patience" and enjoyed it even with some cast changes.

Prime has become total garbage. Not only are there a ton of ads, it seems like a lot of shows on Prime now have an extra fee to watch.
 
I had that on my list. Just now there are a number of series I want to watch. It seems like there is a dearth of content followed by an abundance of shows. I’ve been watching The Other Bennett Sister, Widow’s Bay, Patience and Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed and have enjoyed all.
 
The best thing I can say about Voicemails for Isabelle is that it’s better than Office Romance, but I really didn’t enjoy it that much. I’m still looking for a rom com I haven’t seen before that I actually like.
 
Got a month’s long free subscription to AMC and already saw TWD: The Ones That Live. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to watch?

I've been singing the praises of "Interview with the Vampire" for the past two years. And "The Vampire Lestat," which is actually the continuation of the same series (based on the second book in the Anne Rice series, The Vampire Chronicles), is a pretty wild ride. Of course, if you're not into vampires, definitely not for you, but the two leads have truly explosive chemistry. I'm going to start my campaign right now for Sam Reid (Lestat de Lioncourt) to get a Best Actor Emmy nomination this year. Phenomenal actor, and singer. He makes me laugh, cry, throw things at my TV... often in the same episode. LOL.
 
When I was a kid, after the Saturday morning cartoons, they would play old black and white movies. Most kids went out to play after the cartoons but I would stay and watch them. I particularly liked anything with Shirley Temple, Judy Garland, and Katherine Hepburn. I also liked the Thin Man series.

These days I don't watch movies much at all let alone really old ones. I should start again.

TCM is a wonderful, wonderful thing. That is how I watch most of the movies I watch right now. I just record them onto my parents PVR and watch some one my days off. The problem is that I record a lot of movies so right now I have a around 75 movies on the PVR and a bunch of Looney Tunes episodes because Warner Brothers decided to put Looney Tunes on TCM.

I remember watching old movies with my mom on Saturday afternoons, particularly when it was raining outside. Mom was really into movies with a lot of singing and dancing in them. My love of all things Fred Astaire began that way.

I'm on episode three of the new 'Little House on the Prairie' series on Netflix. It's not the more faithful rendition of the books I'd hoped for, although they are using a lot of the source material (and obviously there are problematic things in the books which would not now be acceptable), but it is definitely a more realistic version of what things would have been like. And a couple of things from the Ingalls family's real story which weren't in the books have been included. As someone who loved the books and has read them multiple times, it's a decent re-interpretation. Some things which have been added likely would never have happened in real life, but I'll accept it as dramatic licence.

That's not a diss on the classic TV series, which I also watched, but that very much became 'based on character names' from the books.
 
We just finished The Leopard on Netflix. Enjoyed it a lot—good acting, interesting historical background, and incredible scenery of Sicily. Now I want to read the book (in English).
 
Is anyone else watching Ride or Die on Prime with Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer? They released all the episodes at once and I've seen the first four so far and it's really good.

I actually really enjoyed this one, even if the special effects were cheesy as hell.
