I have a bit of a peeve, though. For the top 5 competition this week, it seems like they're really pushing Keyla Richardson to advance to the finale ... she gets a duet with the season 5 winner, Taylor Hicks, for the "Idol Class of 2006 Reunion" segment of the show, while the other four are singing with Hicks' fellow finalists. Then, for the DWTS segment, she gets four dancers for her performance, while everyone else gets 2. Doesn't exactly seem fair and balanced, does it? :rolleyes:

I guess it depends on who their partners are. 20 yrs later singing with Taylor seems like a liability imo.

I have never been so happy to see two characters leave a show as I am seeing Teddy and Owen leave Grey's Anatomy! I have disliked their characters and storylines since the day they first appeared on the show. Good riddance and bu-bye! 👿

I never liked Teddy but I liked Owen, sometimes. I was sure they were going to kill Owen off and I kept waiting for him to keel over. Glad they both came to their senses, though, and reconciled, etc.
 
Final episode of Outlander made me teary at the critical plot point. Need to warn one of my friends that she's going to need an entire box of tissues as I suspect she'll be bawling from about 5 minutes in.

And they brought back the original version of the opening credits song for the finale - very pleased as I've grumbled so many times about them changing it for the worse.

No spoilers, but I thinki the ending can be interpreted any way you want, which after initial confusion I think is good.

Dutton Ranch finally here. A lot of plot twists and some interesting twists on the Yellowstone storyline. The opening is haunting. If Beth thought she'd have peace, she thought wrong. I love it. Annette Benning is awesome as the female John Dutton and Ed Harris as Beth's vet ally sings. A lot.

I stumbled into "My Brother the Minotaur" on Apple was surprised that an animated show caught my fancy and how much I'm enjoying it. The animation is lovely and the mystery is fun.

I watched the first episode of Euphoria over the weekend and didn’t know whether to laugh, cry, roll my eyes, or cringe. It made me very glad I don’t have kids if that’s what’s really going on out there.
 
I got sidetracked and watched 2 episodes of “Pop culture Jeopardy” on Netflix (which is insanely difficult IMO), the 2nd episode hat a “Music on Ice” category which contained 4 questions that had to do with figure skating and mentioned Chock & Bates and Adam Rippon (I knew none of the answers :lol: ).
 
Millennial daugher and son-in-law forced us to watch "Margo Has Money Troubles" at their house last weekend. We watched two episodes and got hooked. I never thought a series starring an OnlyFans girl with a pro-wrestler father would be my thing, but the whole point is to explore the humanity of people that boring middle-class people like me have nothing to do with.

The entire cast, especially Elle Fanning, Nick Oferman and Michelle Pfeiffer, is amazing. Highly recommend.

Did the father do anything to warrant job problems though?

I should probably watch the documentary to find out, but I haven't been crazy about some of Netflix's true crime docs lately.

They always seem to end with some AI generated sappy moment at the end where someone filmed from behind (cause it's not the real person) jogs through a meadow onto a hill and the one about the British nurse who allegedly killed all those babies also had AI altered people in it, which was sort of creepy AND the whole documentation was mediocre, so I was a bit put off.

He stated in the documentary that it was ok with him that his 17 year old daughter was smoking(what turned out to be a lot and also while driving)marijuana. That it was better that she was doing that then something else.
Not a good statement to make when you work at a school.
He also chose to wear a T-shirt in the doc with the word Boom on it, knowing his daughter had been convicted of killing two people in a deliberate car crash.

Caught the first episode of Spider Noir and loved it so far but think maybe Nic Cage is a but too old for the part.

I loved Spider Noir. binged it. Mr. Cage isn't too old for the part imo. What I like is that this show isn't action driven (and therfore NC's age is fine)
 
I went to cancel my Paramount+ subscription this morning and it offered me a free month. I figured, what the heck. I’m just about done watching everything I’d planned but I’ll see about a few movies or something. Then I’m going to drop it until maybe late August. I want to watch ST Strange New Worlds but that doesn’t premiere until towards the end of July. I want to time it so I can get any Black Friday deals (although I don’t think they offered any last year…)
 
We pay for it a year at a time -- Peacock too -- and that makes it hard to get these deals sometimes. But it is cheaper overall.

Yes, but I don't need Paramount for 12 months of the year. The discount for paying annually for paramount+ premium is only $20 vs paying monthly for the year. I pay way less than that, except if they have a good deal. A few years ago, I had an annual plan for only $70 for the entire year.
 
I'm getting stupidly excited for the premiere of The Vampire Lestat on Sunday. It looks like just the kind of crazy, rock-and-roll-infused joy ride through Lestat's ****ed-up mind I had always hoped could be made from one of my favorite books.

The early reviews seem to bear that out (the first six episodes have been made available to critics, and the premiere episode had a splashy debut at the Beacon Theatre in NYC on Tuesday night, complete with live rock concert by "Lestat" and his band -- aka, Australian actor/singer Sam Reid and his supporting cast of musician/actors). So far, its score on Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer is 100%. Not likely to hold once the show debuts, but still. The reviews have been outstanding so far.
