He annoys me for that very reason (that he refuses to acknowledge the role he played and accept responsibility) and because he's saying Biden should pardon Trump (yeah, we already know that his judgement is lacking but is this man freaking insane?), so I didn't watch.

I didn't watch him on purpose. I couldn't tell you what all he said about what is going on now. I just kept saying "it's your fault". And my ears perked up when Nicolle mentioned people on twitter were mad that she had him on. Anderson Cooper just said they were going to talk to him (pushing his book) and I turned off the t.v.

I read both articles and don’t see why money from a French man assumed dead December 6th important!

The DOJ IG has released his report on the family separation policy. And Rod Rosenstein is now all "we never should have implemented that policy". https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/14/politics/family-separations-immigration-justice-ig/index.html

I don't think I saw it at the time, the last surviving prosecutor from the Nuremberg trials called the policy a crime against humanity. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...z-family-separation-migrants-un-a8485606.html
He's still alive, so he was able to see Trump get defeated. I hope he lives a little while longer and gets to see at least some prosecutions against the authoritarian, his enablers and the rioters.

Assuming all adults who say the children with them are actually theirs is far worse and also illegal according to US law passed in 2008! It also makes catch and release the de facto law

Rachel Maddow had a really good opening segment last night, on the Flint water crisis and the former Michigan governor and his cronies finally being charged because of their (in)action around that. She discussed the plot in Michigan to kidnap and execute the current governor, and suggested that this was the kind of mindset that we saw on a larger scale in DC.

This is a utmost example of delusion and a person who won't admit they are completely far off the reality.

While we are talking it, I'll say -- honestly speaking -- the society has been increasingly favoring short term emotional gratification over getting over hard facts and truths. I see that even with people around me -- people living in isolation with few people around to challenge their beliefs, a facebook like culture on top of it, and a culture where we sometimes speak in euphemism, at least on a conversational level. It is so easy, just so easy to go on denial over things they don't want to accept.

I see that even with sane people around me, just imagine the people like 3 standard deviations over the mean. So yeah, the extremists are born.

How the tone has changed; in 2016 it was all about "could", "might", "maybe", "it's possible", "we don't know", "it's hard to tell" etc. Suddenly, it's a definite statement.

A study released the week before the presidential election by the Election Integrity Partnership, a consortium of misinformation researchers, found that just 20 conservative, pro-Trump Twitter accounts — including the president’s own @realDonaldTrump — were the original source of one-fifth of retweets pushing misleading narratives about voting.

The Acting Defense Secretary is urging the NSA to install the lawyer (a former Nunes staffer) who was named to the position in November. Sounds like they want to have a Trump/Nunes ally in a top intelligence position to get information once Trump's out of office. The article about the NSA lawyer mentions that if Ellis takes up the job, it'll be more difficult for Biden to remove him quickly but it doesn't mention why. I can only assume that this is because it's meant to be a career and not a political position.
